Quote from: Fizzie on August 15, 2026, 05:25:16 PMThis one came with a 150mm pole-tube, & is for locking the push-on cap in place.

Was thinking about doing similar with the screw-on cap I have on the 90mm conduit tube for sullage hoses.

OK, so dimensions aren't critical, and it doesn't need to be tubular. I'd just use a piece of 10mm staino bar and drill a hole in each end for an R clip. Or if you have a welder you could weld a washer on one end, and use the R clip at the other end.

I was surprised to see you can actually buy them, but $30 is a bit steep.

Quote from: Fizzie on August 14, 2026, 07:41:44 AMThanks, everybody, for suggestions re Clevis Pins - closest thing I've seen so far!

Thinking that mine may be a specially made up thing? CP are all apparently solid & reasonably short, while the one I showed you is hollow, 190mm long x 13mm OD!

If you can't find one for sale, you may be able to get someone to weld a washer to the top of a piece of tube, to make one.

Depending on the critical dimensions, and where it has to fit, you may also be able to just get a piece of tubing and instead of welding the flat head, drill a hole for a split pin to retain a washer slipped over the tube.

A pic of where it is installed maybe helpful.

Quote from: Hairs on August 13, 2026, 05:01:27 PMBrooms Head Caravan Park, a lot of things have changed there in the couple of years.
I too, would of thought that the folder fire pit was sufficient, but no, it had to be 300mm above ground.

Wow!

I suppose, though, that we should be grateful that they even allow fires! A lot of Parks don't allow them at all.

Try an industrial fastener supply business Fizzie, I reckon they would be your best bet.

Latch pins / lock pins / something else ???

& where do you get them? The BGS has nothing!  ::)

Hi Fizzie,
I googled SS flat head pins and this came up on Allie Express. "5/10pcs M3 M4 M5 M6 M8 M10 Clevis Pins With Head 304 Stainless Steel Shaft Flat Head With Hole Pin Bolt Pin Cylindrical Pins"
Hope that helps.
