Petrol or Kero?

They're popular with a slasher as they're the ideal size for doing some paddocks for those with walking dog food.

It may not be a car, but it is old and sitting in my back paddock at home.

Trying to figure out if this is a resto job or a lawn decoration
Front weights on that are worth $ on there own. $500 gets you a complete engine rebuild kit and you're off.

To be honest I have no idea, at the moment I have those pics and that is about it. Plan to have a closer look on the weekend, was just walking past it doing other stuff on Sunday and took the snaps.
Does a kero engine have a disti and spark plugs?

Also I am not familiar with the term "walking dog food". The only thing in our paddocks is hopping dog food (Pademelons), and he seems to be good at catching them.

Sounds like a great plan, I can stumble around and take my time rebuilding the engine. SWMBO reckons whenever I get near a motor I stuff it up, so let's see how I go!!!

Walking dog food = horse, as they go on the dog truck when they're no good (I know a few friends who have sent horses off that way if they're absolutely nutters)

Kerosene is going to run like a diesel IIRC.

Tractor pulls don't need to be that fast or fancy; the local ones here are much more about working the tractors well with a sliding load sled.

That makes sense, having worked in a glue factory, I associate horses beyond their prime with glue.

Appears to have a distributor cap with spark leads, so maybe petrol?

An old fashioned petrol engine runs fine on kerosene. We run an old Ingersoll Rand 150cfm petrol compressor on our mine site for years on kerosene. It was then, a fuel cheaper than petrol or diesel.
We started the engine on petrol and switched it to kerosene once the engine was warm.
This compressor is now in a local museum, the Herberton Historic Village.

Hey, if we have any early Mini owners on here, i've got some bits and pieces for sale on Gum-tree.

Some stuff brand new, some good second hand.

Jeepers Creepers

that red wagon was for sale at the Nambour Swap august last year for $17,000.

From memory, it might have been a manual..i think. I wanted to take it home then, but it wasn't possible at that point.

AS soon as I saw the pic, I knew the car and the goofy lights on the tailgate confirmed it.

Did you see my bit about the NSW cops using Minis and search from there?

In around 12 hours, we got bids to $3,500..... yahoo.

If that happened every 12 hours, we have a mini worth around 2 or 3 hundred thousand.... ;D

Not everybody's cup of tea, but this is a friggin nice car.

Coils all around, good solid station wagon, cheap to run with a six and auto and this would turn heads.

If ya knocked it off for around $8,500 to $9,250 USD, that will work to around $10,000 to $11,000 AUD, throw $9,000 at it for the trip from Portland to L.A., the asbestos stuff required, clean it, pack it and send it, duty, GST and unpacking here and for around $20,000 give or take a couple of dollars, you've got a very nice, "long roof Cruiser"

Swing this into a Cars n Coffee meet or cruise night and see what results you get from the punters.

Based on current prices, this isn't one you'd make a heap of money on, but I still think, to the right buyer, $25,000 wouldn't be out of the question.
This is the sort of thing, I want to start bring in from next year.
I will be able to source cars as well if someone wanted something special.

This is a couple of others I would look real hard at too.
The Coroners wagon would clean up nice.
It looks like a pack of dogs have been living in it, but there is just something about this one I like.

The biggest issue with this one is when the paint work was touched up, Mr. Magoo did the colour match.
Meadowlark yellow is NOT springtime yellow.
But still a nice car for the price.

Pretty wild for a camper set up....
How bad would the fuel consumption be on this ol girl. Built by superior too, who builds hearses and ambulances.
