Peter Champion owns the other 84 VK and there is plenty of debate as to which one is the actual winner.

Champion claims to have 05, but not much on the car is original thanks to its time in England.  Brock, Bev and a few other HDT big wigs have said this is the winner.

Majority of the HDT mechanics, including Jeff Grech who stamped the cars. Along with John Harvey maintain to this day the Bathurst museum car is the winner.

Apparently record and document keeping wasn't a HDT strong point.

I agree, Harry Firth was known to "update" photos in the log books after major incidents if ya get my drift.
The log book I saw, was for car #05 which was written in it but photo showed the England livery.

There is a long history of dubious antics in motor racing.............

He kept the repaired Daytona Coupe that Peter died in.

I'm traveling around Europe on a work trip at the moment. Today I was walking out of one of our customers sites in Belgium, about an hour out of Brussels when I spot an interesting sign on a building near by.
Standing at the front door of this workshop and a voice from out the back calls out for me to come in and have a look.

Why not.....

Every one of these cars is raced, mostly rally and track days, but no show ponies here.

Pete79

Got to talking with the guys building these things, the boss was from the UK and was pushing to get this one finished to race at the Silverstone Classic Grand Prix in 2 weeks time.

I could have stayed all day in here.

OK, first things first.... its a lovely car and may very well get the dollars he's chasing.

However, a nut and bolt restoration, means restored..... not with the wrong motor, gearbox and diff.
If one thing pisses me off, is a restoration that's not a restoration.
I can't remember how many times I've seen this crap, if you restore it, I means the factory colour it left the ass line with too.

Arh, I feel much better now.

SEADOO

$30-$40k tops.

It's just another modified Torana, nothing more.

If it was restored to original with marching numbers, it be worth much more.

They may have got the car like that with engine replacement having happened in 1980...  not much chance of original donk. but the other bits, surely you could find diff etc. and 110? Drugs are bad... MMMMMkay

I find it strange that 3 of the 4 cars they have for sale, mileage is 30,000km the other one is 35,000km.........that's as an aside to the fact they are all, in my view, butchered.
