Jeepers Creepers

I picked up a very nice 1967 Mini Deluxe yesterday.
White with a black interior, oil and water temp gauges, sports steering wheel.
Fitted with an 1100 engine, extractors, mild cam, the little bugger goes along nicely.
The duco is in very nice condition and the white is complimented by a set of Can-am mags.
Its been fitted out with Cooper S style disc brakes and performance shockies, so the little bastard handles and stops pretty good.

Gave it a once around the block in Toowoomba, paid for it and headed for home.
Seeing it was a 335 kilometre trip to get home, I think I can safely say it went well and can handle a decent trip with ease.

I've got a few little details i'd like to sort out (Ignition switch is a little bit loose, new interior light cover, good clean up and that sort of thing)

Geez, I tell ya, these things are very much like a little go-kart in the corners.  :D

This car has been bought to flip over, but I must say, it is a bit of a cutie.  8)

Sounds like it would have been a nice run home too, some nice straights up there to stretch its legs on ...... If your game enough to risk a touch up with the Blue  light brigade ..
The biggest things I miss with all these modern cars  of today,  Is the feeling of the drive, with sounds of lumpy cams and big carbs Breathing and a decent exhaust rumble ...       Give me O'l Skool any day ..

I've got our Mini booked in to be in the Classic Car Auction with Lloyds on the 28th July. (I hope it gets a good price)

The guy we bought it off, told me prior to buying it, his bottom dollar.
I thought the price he wanted was VERY fair, but I had to try, so I went looking to get $500 off the price.
The answer was a FIRM NO and he looked to be getting the Shits a bit, so we just bought it anyway.
I was going to try to get a $1,000 off the price, but when I saw the condition of it, I knew that would've been a bit rude.
I mean, I want to buy something as cheap as I can, but a bit of respect still has to be displayed I think.
Based on the way it went, I think I'd of been thrown out if i'd gone a for a grand off.

I was just about to reverse out the driveway too, and I caught sight of him touch 2 fingers on the front mudguard and give it a little rub and the poor bugger looked sad.
Found out off the wife when we got home, the seller's wife had bought it for him for his 50th birthday a few years back.

I'm hoping he doesn't spot it or get told about it going to auction.

Geez, i'd love to have this in the garage...oh, except it wouldn't fit.
These "Series 75" Fleetwood's come in at a whopping 22 inches longer than my 64 Fleetwood.

Very limited run car, a 63 sitting beside the 64 would be lovely.
Pity the friggin Aussie $ only buys 74 cents or thereabouts.

I wanna know how much bubble wrap or packing peanuts he's gotta use  inside with the car (in the container with all that extra room)?

The really hard part, is getting them before they get to auction and battling the hoards of bidders.

An old Falcon like that would be a fairly easy makeover and look pretty cool.

Being an XK too, very desirable.

I'd like to go to one of these clearance auctions one day just to see how hard the bidding is.. always plenty of tools, chainsaws, and furniture etc sons old footy coach made a living out of buying/selling furniture from these auctions..

Just do it..... is my motto.

Sometimes ya just gotta do, what's right for you.

Although i'm not 100% sure of a few of the styling cues on this, its one very wild and cool pick up. Being a 64 Fleetwood the same as my own, this has been a huge job..... Look good cruising around Melbourne in this Bruce.

It may not be a car, but it is old and sitting in my back paddock at home.

Trying to figure out if this is a resto job or a lawn decoration

Resto job... have you seen what Grey Fergies go for now?

They're popular with the hobby farmers and the polishers, so there's always a market for them...

Alternatively, a mate's lad will abuse work it in tractor pulls quite happily - he does with their Chamberlains and his little Iseki (which punches well above it's weight)

I am thinking if I can get it running\restored (doesn't look like it has been there that long) then I may get a slasher unit and use it myself.
