This arrived in my inbox. Not sure who else received or what other locations.
I received it as well. Now we need to get a list up of who wants what so that both purchasers get a discount. For example, I might be interested in some Maxtrax 299 + 150 = 450 for two pairs - 225 each which is about as cheap as I've seen but I don't want two pairs.

Swannie, as per the PM, I've made a rational decision (for once some might say!) and have many other things to spend the money on.

Anyone else want to take up Swannie's offer to take a set of Maxtrax?

dales133

Adrian could you forward me that email please mate so i can read it on my phone?

dales133

I could be keen but ive got to put a clutch and part time 4wd conversion in the cruser this week for the princely sum of 2000 bucks so i should show restraint.
And engel fridge one the other hand might sway me

Does anyone know anything of these? That's a massive price drop, it was a bit hard to go past. I'm still thinking of going back...

That's the superseded Jaycar one. It would be interesting to know why they changed. I have a small version and it's been fine. Note that it's 24V input.

Bloody hell, good pick up... I would've made a real stooge of myself there! Thanks mate

Nothing other than the build date is Oct 14. From memory I think MANDRAKE was buying batteries from this company so they can't be too bad!

latest supercheap catalogue has cheap firepits and butane heaters

flat pack firepits $25  not sure how good they are but its not a massive outlay to find out.

Picked one of these up & finally got a chance to try it out last weekend.

The instructions only refer to charcoal & heat beads, but we used it with real timber & it worked really well. Very light gauge metal & so it warped a bit, but still perfectly usable. No ash or rubbish left on the ground afterwards, except for a very small amount which fell out of the hand-grip holes.

Not only a nice fire, but comes with a cooking grill that also makes a pretty darn good toaster - much quicker than 1 slice at a time over the gas burner, when you want 8 slices for brekky!  :D (& let's the 2 boys help with cooking breakfast!  8))

&, as a special bonus, it's even portable, while still burning! Bit of a strong breeze had come up this way, so we moved round the end of the tent & out of the wind - night before, we'd moved round the end & sat under the tent flap with the fire out the front, then moved it back round the front an hour later when the drizzly rain stopped  ;D

Currently $35, so if it's only going to be used every once in a while, I reckon they're worth it.
