Radio isnt functional. I just gutted it and use the knobs to turn on leds, and tuner moves but its only for a bit of wow. Valves were moved to top for display and are lit with leds. "upgraded" turntable to an old 80s Dual deck and powering it with an old Marantz 1150. Waiting on some old Cerwin Vegas to arrive to really get the tunes cranking. Using my Aarons from the surround in the lounge ATM.
Getting into spinning vinyl alot more lately.

Cheers Glen
I don't mind what's on the inside sir.
I just think the case is great and it's nice to see it get a new lease on life...

What a great idea Glen !!
I had something similar that I got very cheap...but I did not have any imagination...and moved it on.
Bugger !

rusty gates

Ahead of going bush next Monday for 10 days, I've built a 3 jerry can rack, that fits neatly between the front of the trailer and the storage box on the A frame. It's made from light gauge angle and flat bar and is bolted to brackets on the A frame. I've added a chain that loops through the handles and locks onto a lug at the other end.

I also added a marine ply base, with holes for the bolts, so the jerry cans won't rub their bums on the heads of the mounting bolts.

The other thing I've built is a 2 legged support that fits under the edge of the swing out kitchen, to give a little bit of support. I've over-engineered it, but that's how I make most things!!

regards
Rusty...

I have upgraded the axle and springs on my Trackabout to a 2 tonne axle and springs .

The new axle come with 12" brakes , not a lot of clearance between the outer brake hub and the inner 15" rim , but they do fit .

Another job that I finished a couple of weeks ago .

Made a swing out spare tyre carrier , removed the tyre from the tail gate as I have had to repair the top hinge where fatigue was starting to appear.

Great work Mr D - would love to be able to make stuff like that
Any idea what the Trackie weighs with all the mods you've done and the gear that you carry.

Nice amp, I've got a Marantz 1090 in the shed.
4.2L TD Toyota Troopy, (Clarke's Country Camper Trailer, softfloor.) sold it and bought a Avan Ray small poptop caravan.

Bill

Cleaned it.
Sorted all Rocky's parts and put them in tubs under Rocky.
That cleaned up enough shelf space for me to rearrange my smaller power tools so I could get my 2 drop saws and metal cutoff saw out of Rocky and onto shelves easier to get to.
I then decided to tear down my welding trolley and arrange it to a more user friendly format. Unfortunately that meant the old reliable stick welder got regulated to the bottom of the cart and the plasma cutter up onto the top next to the mig. I then decided I didn't need 4 welding helmets, 3 face shields, 4 pairs of hearing protection and 6 pairs of gloves on the trolley so relocated all but 1 of each and 2 pairs of gloves to shelves. That freed up enough room on the trolley to store my grinders and going discs.
Then it was just a matter of blowing out the shed with the blower and then vacuuming the floor.
Now I have 1/2 my shed back I can get stuff done again...

Eventually that will happen.

Does Morag want the Rocky done too?

Of course she does.
But she also has 3759 jobs she wants done as well that take priority.
Once all her jobs are done I can finish my projects.
So not looking like it will be finished in the near future...

cut the "MPPT" controller off the solar panels and fitted a Volt & Amp gauge. now the Thunder DC-DC can control the charging to the camper batteries.
hopefully the charging rate will improve now that the charger is near the batteries?

Knocked up a shelf for the missus' bbq crap out of some metal brackets and 140mm wide merbau. Supposed to be 2 shelves but I couldn't count the number of screws required. Oh well another trip to bunnos tomorrow.

I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go...

Not in the shed, but did involve getting tools and materials from there....today is day 3 off work due to the rain (seems like Melbourne weather here currently, without the cold though...lol)........I fixed / replaced the busted shower head on Monday and got a painter to quote on painting the outside of our timber house, Tuesday it was getting the wheels balanced and a wheel alignment done on the Cruiser (yeah I didn't actually do that work...lol), and today I have replaced the worn out wheel on the gate for the wife's driveway, fixed all the chainwire back to the gate that had busted loose, then went and put wheels on the gates on my driveway as both have sagged over the years, adjusted the latch so it's no longer a wrestle to close it, drilled out the concrete with a bigger hole so the drop latch works better (hole was always on the snug side), cut some conduit and whacked it in the ground for the drop latch to hold the gate open instead of swinging in the wind, then went upstairs and replaces 4 light bulbs in the lounge room that were blown.
Kinda funny how so many easy fix things get blown off being fixed, yet they annoy the scrap out of you daily....all fixed now though 8)
