I use the inbuilt backup, to an external drive.
You don't use magic to disappear, all you need is a 4wd & a Swag ;)

I use a dedicated powered seagate backup hard drive using their software it's I think it's 6Tb but I will check. It's compressed so I have 4 computers backed up to it with regular backups and have hardly used any space.

This ^^ but depends what your backing up. Amazon offers some reasonable storage.

The 3-2-1 backup strategy simply states that you should have 3 copies of your data (your production data and 2 backup copies) on two different media (hard drives) with one copy off-site for disaster recovery

Back up using SyncBack (Free).

Back up daily stuff to a USB stick; monthly to 2 x ext h.d, one just in my desk, but the other is in the safe; once or twice a year the safe hd is swapped for one that lives in the safe at my BiL's place, while they have a hd in mine as well.

Thinking of getting another hd / ssd for Son 1 to keep with him in Brisbane & bring down fortnightly ???

Keep all my data on my NAS and occasionally back it up to another NAS stored in the small shed. Off site but still on my property 😃. The NAS units are hardware independant so if the hardware dies can shove the drives in another PC and it boots up all going. Gotta love Linux based software. The NAS drives can be rebuilt from the parity drive if they die too.

We have to start thinking about what sort of a world we are going to leave for Keith Richards after we are all gone.
