Just spotted this comment on another forum, originally posted in 2016.

So now, that dynamic duo, Nature and Reality, the actual owners of the planet, have showed up to read the riot act to the renters throwing a wild party.

It was actually part of a discussion talking about economics & possible impending collapses (in China, strangely enough), but it certainly makes you think about the last 12 months (& where we're going from here?)

Do underground mines have specialised / dedicated Mine Rescue teams

Reason for asking is that I'm a mapper with Open Street Map. We've been in discussion about updating our listings for Emergency Groups & a comment was made that Mine Rescue teams don't exist any more, so don't need to be shown - if anything happens, it's just the normal crews who go down to help with whatever the problem is

They surely do have mines rescue these days.My father worked in the underground mines in Newcastle many years ago.

Agree with Mark. As far as I'm aware they still have onsite rescue teams as we design NPI (non process infrastructure) dedicated to the team.
I also have been advised, that there is a dedicated "first responder" with each crew that goes under (the larger mines).

I would like someone to explain to me how someone who has been assessed again for their mental state, schizophrenia is allowed to just walk out of hospital 
My brother was diagnosed 25 years ago, it has been a struggle for my Mother, my sister and our family.
Yesterday he became voilent, so my Sister called the police & an ambulance. After a struggle he was taken to hospital and assest. Police guard, this morning while the copper takes a piss break, he just walks out 
We have been informed, if we see him to ring 000.
How TF does someone under police guard just get up and walk out?

They will....if they deem it safe.   But usually in the case of explosion or fire, that's why it happened, and no man is allowed to risk their life trying to save someone who is probably already dead.
I worked in underground coal mines for 38yrs and luckily only had one incident.....2 men badly burnt from an explosion,  but a few incidents at other local mines requiring mines rescue, to retrieve bodies.
Nature of the beast,  if you haven't been able to rescue yourself from an incident, you're probably already a goner.

All she got was blank stares, nobody wanted to talk about
She has also contacted police to ask are they actively looking for him at the homes of the people he hangs with, 'They are still making enquiries'

I know this is very upsetting. We had an uncle with bipolar who was also quite difficult and initially escaped from the hospital. Unfortunately patients can be quite cunning and staff errors do occur.

The good side of this is that your brother is now known to police and once they have him, he will be taken into custody, assessed and sectioned if required. My uncle could go two years without contacting anyone and then would ring us in the middle of the night. That was an early sign that he was off his medication. We would ask the police to check on his well being and he would be difficult (often violent) and subsequently detained and treated. The positive of it all was the family was able to have the police manage his manic moments and they would not react inappropriately to his behaviour as he was now known to them.

I hope they find your brother soon and he gets the help he needs.

Hi Shane,
Apparently he is still receiving payments for being Mums carer, because my Sister applied to become her carer, but she has been refused, because my Sister does not live with our mother.
So my sister has moved in with her(our mother), between myself and my sisters eldest son(24) we are caring for my sisters youngest two(15 &13).
Nobody(Goverment) can explain how our brother was able to become Mum's carer in his condition.
Lets hope they find him, he had been known to cough surf in the past for months on end.
He is someone who loves having cash in his hand, withdrawn from the same atm, surely they(police) can trace him from that.
Sure, I know it is man hours that they are stretched with, we hope he can be found sooner, rather than later.

What actually kills the flies

I know at the start they fall in the water & drown, but by the time the trap gets to that level, there's no water left, so what finishes them off

The one in the video is dry. Normally start about half full and as it fills up the ones on top.push those below under the water.  The more flies you get the smellier it gets, which attracts them faster.   Also work better in warm weather. 
When nearly full I tip half to the chickens who go crazy. 

After a few times in have to clean it out as the stench gets too much

Why are there so few used cars forsale at moment? And why have prices of used cars gone nuts??? I understand supply and demand and those 2 go hand in hand - but car yards are empty and carsales/etc 3000 cheapies are now 5000

Yeah, I did read somewhere it has something to do with imports/supply/demand, 
1) manufacturing of vehicles has slowed, Australia doesn't anymore, we are reliant on others.
2) countries that do are struggling to get parts from china, they are reliant on china for parts.
3) most people can not afford to update, so they want top dollar for their vehicle.
4) all of the above plus more.

Over here there are people with money
Because they can't spend it on overseas holidays
But the dealers can't get new cars and are paying good money for low K trades if they can get them

I've seen here on FB buy swap sell groups, people asking what their(eg, 2008 commodore/falcon) is worth, no hurry to sell, don't waste my time.
It's a strange market atm.
