Finished off a 1933 Seagrave Fire Engine, approx 450mm long. Custom build for a customer.

Nice work Pottsy.

I have rocking horses to restore but distracted with this. Not required until July but want have time for do overs just in case.

This years submission for the pallet fundraiser. Don't have time/inclination for a rocking horse so something a bit different.

Making a wall hanging out of pallets & a hanger for it out of scrap metal bits.

Photos of what the hanging will look like except this one is 10 inch the  new one will be approx 23 inch.

Then gluing up & turning the back of the hanging. Love the knot that popped out. Will plug it in the morning.

Other photo bits & bobs gathering for the hanger.

Pottsy

Raym, nice piece, will be interested to see the pallet job by when she is done.

I'm 2/3s of the way thru an ore tipper, tractor, two bogeys and three side tippers, about 5ft long overall, 74 wheeler.

I will cut the teeth of as they are not required & Yes lazy me thought about the knot being a feature bit it is filled in case I hit it when turning the front.

Some progress on the back of the hanging today. When it dries I will sand back the darker areas & reapply the red. It is a bit streaky for my liking even though it wont be seen.

I also noticed I stuffed up alternating the growth rings to reduce warping. Oh well it will have that much bling on it any warping won't be noticeable I hope.

Ray, do you use Ubeaut wood dyes to colour your work?

Yes only started using it before xmas.

Plan was to produce a range of coloured wood turnings using the stains, acrylic paints, gilding creams & reactive metal paints. Got a few rocking horses to restore, when they are done will do more turning.

The Tigerz 11 winch that we'd been using for about 10 years finally gave up the ghost, so I managed to find a near new Warn XD9000 on marketplace, just serviced for $645 ( happy with that ). Then was the fun bit of removing the Bullbar and disconnecting all the attached bits, ......... fog light wiring, UHF, spotlights, 50amp Anderson Plug, 175amp Anderson Plug, Merrit Plug, Air Line etc.
And that was just to get to the old winch and unwire it and remove.    Then fit it all back on again, all up it was a 10 hour job ( working at shed pace  ;D ) .
But we should be right for another 10 years or so  :cup:.

P.S.       for anyone looking at doing the some type of job, it's about a 16 Carona job     ;D   ;D

bought one of those a while back.  We are going to replace the 30 odd year old wardrobes with a sort of built in unit.  Looking at making drawers and holding shelving in place with it.

Make this too complicated just requires more work later

Mate I'm loving your work ( being wood challenged myself   :-[  ),  I had this Kenworth made for me about 35 years ago by a guy at the old Cannon Hill Markets.
It's 1.16m long with a moving rear tri on the trailer and moving bogies & drive shaft in the prime mover !
It's sat on my wall unit all these years, and I thought you might like a look  :) .
Keep up the great work, their a credit to you   :cup:

Here is the front of the hanging. Left rustic nail holes, tear out & sanding left the surface like the surf at Bondi.

The blending between the red & yellow could have been a bit more subtle.

Not sure I like it. Will make the hanger & see what it looks like. Plenty of time to make an alternative.
