Try this mob. Got the info from a mate of mine who is a professional rod maker. He also told me to stress to you how important the treatment and prep of the cane is.

Good Luck.

My sister is a solo traveler in her mid 60's ...  Has a VW caddy, no pop top,  just a DIY bed with room underneath for storage ..hanging rail for clothes and plastic storage boxes .. A shelf bench along the inside to take a gas cannister twin burner stove  .. 40lt Engel with solar,  two 10 lt water jerries strapped to the floor + a cassette toilet  ..table / chair and a 4wd type roll out awning with  walls if she wants ..
Its been all she needed and quite regularly traveled from the East coast to the West coast over 2 > 3 months at a time ..

Originally talking to him that is the sort of set up he was talking about.  While he doesn't have a camper/van at present he still has a lot of camping gear he can use.   Next time I talk to him he may be onto the next idea

Now now there Bird as it was a great display of wet weather footy by some very good footballers all round and there wasn't much between the top 4 sides.(Port only beat Carlton after the siren) Richmond jumped the rest week side early but by quarter time Port was back and had Richmond on the back foot in the second but as a Port fan you could see they weren't finding targets when they were clear so Richmond handled the conditions better in the arm wrestle to the end and fully deserved their win against the home crowd.

Port beat Geelong in the dry and they're the best scoring side and easily beat Brisbane that beat Richmond in the dry so they're my tip for a dry track GF and Dangerfield for the Norm Smith. Even if they lose he might take it out. If it's wet I'll tip Richmond with Dusty so who will the footy Gods smile upon with that as you need an ounce of luck to win a flag when there's no standout in the top four and you have to beat all three. It wouldn't feel any better losing by a kick in the GF as there's no prizes for second.

Yep, we're in it, Fizzie. 20 minutes, early this morning, 14 species. This evening, there will be several different, nocturnal species to add.

14!

Wow!

& I thought we were doing well with 8 species :-[

No unfortunitely . :'( :'( .   When dad downsized to a pop top campervan he gave his big homemade indian cane surf rods  away .. Dad wasnt the materialistic keepsake type, They were a tool that he used for his craft and reckoned he could make them up again if ever he needed too .
Unfortunitely time marched on and times changed to composites in the fishing world  and Indian cane stocks were dumped and burnt in  this country ...
I dearly wanted to build a couple of rods with him again as keepsakes and tried everyone / everything I could up until he died ..
Even tried the big name socalled fishing champions and fishing show stars for years to find some stockists of proper  Indian cane, No surprise they wernt interested in helping  .. Sadly not to be .
Though  I still look and ask on regular occasions if anyone knows of any stock from time to time .. I reckon I'd struggle pretty much the same way I did as a teenager trying to work a 17 foot cane rod  effectively  .. The old man used to swung those rods like they were a two foot twig .
