We have just purchased a composting toilet but haven't had a chance to use it. However, they recommend Coir Peat which you can get from Bunnings https://www.bunnings.com.au/brunnings-15l-coir-peat-brick_p0274283?srsltid=AfmBOor9ife02xvg5mV7NoImSM99pw0H26L_rlmzY_t5AvntuYv_OJWy. Use about half a brick, moisten it (about 900ml of water I think it is, and away you go.

Hope this helps.

Never used a composite toilet before, always camped at Cathedral and use the fire ring there (reason for previous question) and ablution block but want to try beach camping

I have a GottaGo composite unit.

What are the best mix? Sawdust, coffee beans, block?
And best place to buy them

Should have mention, I have a Landcruiser 76 so a weber will be no good since i don't want to fit it inside
I have a hardshell rooftop tent which mean limited roof space with twin wheel carrier.

Will get a Stov Extremely Portable gas bbq, it is compact, take no space, can carrier outside the LC76 and the wood handle is a great thought to lifting a hot plate.

Started this topic since I have specific Fraser questions

Bird - further to my response to your question yesterday re insurance. I have analysed Australian Seniors pds and compared against RACV.

For the premiums involved Aust Snrs has some shortfalls that concern me. The main one is the Removal of Debris limit of $10k or $15k depending what option of cover you choose. This could leave an insured dramatically short. Most / many limit this to 20% of the sum insured but RACV is not limited other than what they agree to in order to clear the site. Disposing of fire damaged materials is exhorbitantly expensive now and limited to only one or two sites around Melbourne. As a property owner you would be obliged to clear the site regardless of what your insurer covers. The Aust Snrs cover wouldn't go close to covering it.

Water damage, theft limits, little things like alcohol, bikes etc etc are all much better under RACV (and most other insurers for that matter).

I  incorrectly assumed that Aust Snrs would be akin to Australian Pensioners which is quite a good cover but sadly I was wrong. It is little more than a very basic policy.

Awesome info and thanks for taking the time... happily O U a beer or 2

I didn't realize Aus Senior and Aus Pensioners were different...

APIA came in at $1421..

Interesting using their online calculators for working out values of contents and what is listed in their 'drop down menus' etc.. the amounts there varied with APIA coming in at 195k for contents where others were round 150k..

Some of the personalised plates we spotted yesterday!

HLUXRY on a Hi-Lux was clever (although I'm not sure that Hi-Lux & "Luxury" actually go together ???)

M1SF1T & V4ND4L were both a worry though, especially as they way they were being driven matched their "names"!  :o ::) >:(  s
