hi swaggers ,

DISCLAIMER.... I HAVE NO COMERCIAL/ FINANCIAL INVOLVMENT WITH THIS AT ALL...

Well I needed another space case for Weipa next week to put the geny in ,and was prepared for the $$$ hurt but came across  http://www.qtank.com.au/space_cases.php

These guys are a great company I have got water tanks from them before. But did not know they are now selling trimcast.

If you call em up and say THEO FROM MANDRAKES sent you the lady will offer you a further 20% YES 20% off the posted price .(which is still the cheapest price around.)

I bought the 550 x 550 x 450 and got prices upto $385.. Qtank had it for $220 and then I got another 20% off so paying $176.00.

Like I said I have nothing to do with this other than asking for a further discount and offering to spread the word for them if they could do a deal .

Hope it helps someone looking for a case.... They are at Brendale in Brisbane northside ..

Kind regards

Jetcrew

Bloody brilliant! I too have a tank from them and would recommend the company.

Might be a good alternative to the standard small steel box on the front of the Lifestyle Extenda.

Best. Link. Ever.

These are brilliant boxes, am now using one for food and another on the roof rack. Lockable, waterproof, dustproof.

They are an awesome product I have used them for years and they are great cause when the boat is stuck on mudbank and we have to get everything out to refloat like MD had to do last night in his final doco I dont have to worry about the gear inside.

I have about 5 of em and have given them alot of punisment and they stand up to it well.

For intrest sake the 550x550x450 fits the honda eu10i ,my batt charger ,leads plugs lights ,spare oil,5 ltr fuel can ect in the one box. Makes it easy to grab and go ....

Jetcrew.

To find someone willing to give me the best price around and then further discount it was awesome.... I will tell the MRS it cost me more then I can pick up a few extra lures on the way home...LOL

Hope she doesn't read this  :D :D

We use them as storage for our clothes, and they travel on the top of the camper.  Never had any worry about dust or rain getting in, and they can be left on the ground outside the camper for easy access.  We also carried another on the roof rack of the Patrol full of odds and ends when we went north.

I use these guys http://stores.ebay.com.au/OutdoorSalesDirect
They have a local depot that I can pick up from, and are the cheapest I have found...

jetcrew

UR-50-LO,

There some good prices there on that site except they are not made by TRIMCAST....

I do not know how good/bad these TRUNKLOCKERS ones are.

But If you have them and are happy with them thats great and they do look pretty good. I might buy my mate the pink one LOL

I was more referring to the best price for TRIMCAST rather than the best price for a storage box...

You got me side tracked though looking at eskys  :D :D

kind regards

Hey Guys, has anyone checked the prices of QTank against ARB? I went to the local ARB today for a price comparison and they are almost the same, even with the Qtank 20% off. For example, the two I was looking at:

900x550x400 - Qtank = $272 ($340 - 20%), ARB = $270
900x400x400 - Qtank = $232 ($290 = 20%), ARB = $250

Might go the first one I think.

I got up to RIP Jet and my jaw dropped! I'm still a little shakey! I havent been frequenting the forum much over the last week or 2! But then I read the rest of the thread.. phew.
Isnt it amazing. I've never met Jet or even spoken to him, yet reading something like this post (or half of it) can have such an affect on a person!!

maybe its just me?
Oh well. I hope you are all happy and well!

Rossow.

I am now using one of my Trimcast Space Cases as a pantry, dust proof, water proof, lockable, plus they're a regular shape so packing is easy.

A good price indeed, though Glenfords Tool Centres had the 555545's for a similiar price when I purchased one the other week.  Might be a good option if not in Brisvegas.  ;D

Having purchased 13 of these suckers recently  ::), i've been careful not to purchase some of the similiar brands as in some cases their sealing lip on the box is inferior IMO.  I like the ability to stack them without the pile sliding everywhere, as some others don't seem to interlock at all.  >:(  With light gear inside, it is still possible to move them with one person due to their size.

Maybe us Victorian's should all get together and hit an ARB store for a good deal on quantity.
I just rang the local ARB and when asked for their best price on the phone was quoted

900 x 550 x 400 = $280 from $306
900 x 400 x 400 = $240 from $263

I am not quite ready to buy yet, but I will need a couple for the Cape next year. If others are interested we could approach them and haggle for a better deal.

In AU the Pelican cases are expensive yet in the US they're cheap. I always buy 1 or 2 when I am over there to sell on eBay from Fry's.
