Hi,
    There do seem to be some holes in the legislative attempts to isolate.
We see lots of locals striding along local walking tracks, yet it is not kosher to drive a few km and walk on other tracks. Ok it breaks the isolation algorithm.
Our beaches are open to walk along but N.S.W have closed theirs.
Perhaps we have more  m^2 beach/person, and don't have crowding issues. Closing the beaches concentrates folk to the sea wall path. Crazy? Perhaps they won't turn up to a cement walking tracks but want to loll on the sand.
There still lots of yachts on the Derwent Estuary. All alone, bobbing about in their own km^2. The only potential for problems is the method of getting from shore to sea.
Blanket bans just make it easier to police, with no allowance for individual prophylactic measures.
It is all a bit unsophisticated, but for the greater good I suppose.

Wonder what is really the problem with someone driving to another location to do exercise. Provided they do it taking all of the precautions (ie: distancing etc) I actually don't see it any different (from a risk perspective) of leaving your house and going for a walkaround your own suburb or going to work, Coles, Bunnings etc. There is plenty of discussion around about maintaining your mental health during this period and if someone is driving to the beach etc so that they can go for a walk or run  where is the increased risk?

This virus hasn't grown wings or legs so isn't going to chase you because you are in a different location. Follow social distancing rules and wash your hands very regularly and you will be extremely extremely unlucky to catch this. Of course there is an increased risk if people aren't following these requirements so we should be focussing on these instead of geography

They are using in car cameras with license plate tech in Qld. I don't know about the other states.

But what happens if you are the one with the virus but dont know it yet..

It is just so very, very simple..Stay home, like millions are doing, and the quicker we do as asked the quicker this virus will be manageable.  If you want to end up like New York...just carry on as usual.  Dont forget...we let one bloke start travelling...we will get tens of thousands wanting the same...

You keep saying that.. but they arent.. They are ALLOWED to go to Bunnings, and markets.
I've never in my life seen so many families and people out bike riding and walking and shopping.

Then Gov Co keeps saying 'the curve is flattening'... old bags at work here are saying its nearly over the curve is flattening... thousand of others will take that attitude and think life is back to normal.
The mixed messages are ****ing this whole gig ...

Could be that you're going to use more fuel so there's a trip to the servo, & on the way there & back you'll stop for a coffee & so on, so more exposure to others

Yep without their 'normal' release activities people will start or have started in some cases acting or reacting in ways they would not normally do.  Interesting watching some of the interactions on the forum of late.

Fizzie i do understand the point you are making but if you maintain your social distancing and keep up the handwashing etc the chances are still very remote. In our little town for example the servos have installed barriers between the attendants and the customers, have stopped using cash and are wiping down the eftpos machines between customers. There are also no coffee shops open at the present except those that do drive through so once again there are control measures in place.

You can also do the above from going to places legitimately and legally so I fail to see where the real increase in risk is.

We only have to see some behaviours that have been exhibited in some of the posts on this forum to see what extended periods at home appears to be doing to some. May very well be bringing out some peoples true nature so maybe if they got distracted or busy with something else it may be beneficial.

Let's see what tomorrow brings i suppose

Surely you're not suggesting the actions of a few, ruin it for others???

Yeh, "normal" people can see the benefits of isolating,  but we have among us a LOT of people who have never fitted the mould of normal !

This weekend was a good time to shut everything for 4 days.......everything except hospitals.......beaches, shopping centres...even Bunnings..

Just have one public holiday and you'd think the shops were shut for a week.
It would be apocalyptic if people went 4 days 'without shopping'
