I will be 4WDing with others from Sandhurst 4WD Club, through the buckland valley, twins jeep track and down to Dargo. Camping behind the Dargo pub and enjoying a pub meal and a few beers. Then heading up the iconic Billy Goats Bluff Track to the Pinnacles and then on to Ben Cruachen.

No camper on the back for this trip, but we are doing another one in May and I will be taking the camper in to base camp for a couple of days at Running Creek Reserve near Jamieson.
Towing a a National Campers 'Hermit 10' hybrid with an MQ Triton. Previously towed an Outback Campers 'Sturt' softfloor. (PM me if you want to buy the Sturt!)

Heading down to Taylors Beach(just out of Ingham).  Try and catch a feed of fish and relax. Enjoy..

Lots of muddies around Mission Beach last weekend, Bigfish.

Had a charter booked for last Sunday but weather put the kibosh on that!

Good Luck!

How busy do they get on a normal weekend? It seems most places claim to "limit numbers" but what that means from one place to another can be two totally different things. It would be nice if most campsites showed a what capacity looks like photo, it would help to understand what to expect. Does look like a decent campsite though and good value for a family, just so long as it isn't sardinesville.

Leaving it a bit late, but intending to do something. Hopefully a bush or beach camp with the boys and the swags. Fishing over Easter seems the right thing to do somehow... Off to the Prom in the camper just after Easter though. At least that one is booked in.

austastar

Hi,
Probably start packing a day or so after.
Give the roads time to clear and the bush/beach time to empty.
Cheers

There's always a few people there, but I've never felt that it was too crowded. Only once have I had an issue, but that was because some clown decided he wanted to set up 3 feet from me rather than any where else on the couple of acres of clear area. Idiots are idiots, you will strike them anywhere at some point. Brian caps the numbers at the same level whether it's a long week-end or not. With Easter, there are basically the same 3 large groups that use the same area every year, so we pretty much know what to expect.

Figured that would be the case with the amount of freshwater pouring out of creeks.  Be nice to get a feed.  Got spoilt in NT with mudcrabs so the occasional one is all I need now...them and a nice feed of fish.  Cheers

Anywhere on the beach around here is going to be crazy, and since we avoid crowds like the plague, we're going inland, which we've never really done before. Looking forward to it. If I can't be swimming in the ocean I'm sure I can find some tracks and get my patrol dirty.

duggie

Depending on what this bloody cyclown up in the gulf does , we should be heading out to Stannery Hills ( FNQ ) for the long weekend .
