Condamine track

Just wondering if anyone can a bit of advice on the Condamine track
Are there designated camping spots along the track to pull up with a camper trailer or are there any great spots that others have camped at along the way
Any pointers appreciated

No camping along the track itself......

Queen Mary Falls is one option, I haven't camped there myself by looks OK.

Not sure of any others closer.

As mentioned there is no camping along Condamine Gorge track, and it only takes 20 - 30 minutes at best to drive it.
Camping options around the area include those listed above already, there's a campground near Governors Chair Lookout /  on Spicers Gap Track but it's just a camp area surrounded by scrub with no views of anything to enjoy other then that just kick back listen to whip birds (chances are you can have it to yourself). Kalbar Showground has camping but it's not the most scenic location, around the general area is Bigriggen, Mt Barney Lodge,  Flanagans Reserve, Gordan Country, Goomburra etc (all these will be super busy over the long weekend). There used to be a nice private camp at the bottom of Cunningham's Gap but it closed last year. There's a few other private camps caround the area also who's names currently escape me

And the road on the north end at the range prohibits trailers. Just something to plan around.

Thanks for the heads up. From reading another forum sounded like a full day out and also didn't realise trailers were banned

Trailers are NOT banned on the dirt Condamine River Road!

You can tow between Boonah/Rathdowney and Killarney via the Condamone River Road and the 14 river crossings.

Trailers and caravans are not recommended on the bitumen Spring Creek Road between Carneys Creek and Queen Mary Falls.  So if you tow along the Condamine River Road and stay at QMF caravan park, you will have to go back down the hill towards Killarney or Legume on you way home.

The Condamine River Road has a few decent potholes at the moment and one river crossing has a small ledge on an exit but nothing that would worry a CT or small van.  Water levels are normal.

Hey Kev, in your photo's of Cullendore, you've got one with the truck stopped on a track on the top of the river bank

Whereabouts on Cullendore is that, cause I don't remember that spot

Thinking outside the box, I had considered contacting here http://www.oakleacottages.com.au/index.php previously to see if that would let you set up somewhere in return for some $$$, would probably need to be self-sufficient though.

Howdy...... if its the third pic- thats part of Matty's dam.... ( i think ) it was the one right down the back that backs onto Maryland NP

Drove the condamine today......

Plenty of activity.....they are giving the road on the top half a touch up......had to deal with truck and dogs and semi's carting gravel in.

Pretty smooth drive...18min from first crossing to the grid at the top.

I did spot the signs saying the head rd isn't suitable for trailer or trucks (except local traffic). You could be a local for the day.

great spot and beautiful waterfall, but it was a refugee camp last Easter and probably be same if going this long weekend...we stopped in one day over Easter for a look at the falls, was surprised at how packed it was.

There was a sign in a tree not too long ago, with a phone number if you wanted to lease/rent camp in the paddock beside the road it was approx $100 for 2nights , has not been mentioned previously so may not be there anymore,

Don't really have anything more to add. You can MAKE a day out of it, but its definitely not a day in itself. From where we are in Brisbane (Northside) its about a 2hr drive there, and the longest we'd have ever taken to drive the road would be an hour stopping for photo ops, etc.

There's a video on our YouTube channel if you're interested... it was from the Ladies Day we organised.
