Hey guys...pretty quick question.

Is there any beachfront camping spots (NOT including caravan parks), that allow you to camp pretty much beachside but you can get there without physically driving on the beach (i.e. a 4x2 will suffice).

I am in South East Qld so places within a 4 hour drive.

Cheers

Jeepers Creepers

Inskip, maybe 50 metres of dry sand from the bitumen to a good spot.
I DON'T CARE HOW NICE THE HAND SOAP SMELLS.....

You should never walk out of the public toilets sniffing your fingers.

^^ what he said. That's the only place I can think of not being a caravan park, otherwise cotton tree in side a park

This one was a pretty regular spot for us when we lived on the Goldy.

The southern spots in the Red Cliff area are pretty much beachfront, there's a couple of great spots on the headland in the middle section, the middle ones are not beach front but it's only a few meters to carry your chair from camp up to the headland and enjoy the awesome views to the south.
Or you can have the lake and beach on the northern zones. The beach in front of the lake is not as pretty as the southern side and from what I recall you can't camp as close to the beach in that area.

Brooms head and Sandon are a quick trip down the road and worth checking out if you haven't been down that way before.

There used to be a beach side car park that allowed 3 or  4 day stays for about 6 sites  [ paid the council  ] at a spot just back from Maroochydore  .. Saw it on a Creek to coast week end get away type show .. Not sure if they still do it ..
Or Sandon river http://www.findacamp.com.au/camp-site.php?pc=EVANS%20HEAD_NSW_2473&camp=670

or http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/camping-and-accommodation/campgrounds/illaroo-campground   And the getting there etc info   http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/visit-a-park/parks/yuraygir-national-park/visitor-info#Getting-there-and-parking

Poverty Point but may need 4WD depending on track condition

Minnie Water (Illaroo) and Lake Arragan/Red Cliff ... as mentioned already.
Also Black Rocks is almost the same.  Woody Head too.
Then there's the campgrounds on Straddie such as Cylinder beach.  There are a few options there.  Not quite the same though (being proper campgrounds).
If you can stretch your 4 hour limit you could get to Kinkuna.  No beach driving required and if you camp where the main road in meets the beach you also don't need any 4wding.  Most spots in there do need a 4x4 though.

i don't think fires are allowed, but the OP never actually asked for somewhere that allowed them, just wanted beach style camping.

If you are tent camping as opposed to camper trailer camping South Stradbroke could be an option, just need to get a water taxi for the 5-10 min trip across.

Across the road from home😂😂 sorry but it's central coast qld. Near Mackay. We can walk there, drive there, ride the quadbike there, light a fire, pretty much whatever. And have the whole beach to ourselves most the time.... jeez I'm glad I moved away from the SE corner.

Definitive answer :'( "No open fires, braziers or generators are permitted in any area of the Tourist Park due to Health & Safety reasons"

Don't know about the OP, but camping without a fire is not for us :'(

That wouldn't stop you having a fire on the beach somewhere slightly away from the camp area.
