Weather permitting, next Saturday (27th) we paint the engine bay mate.

I am having fun ya know. When it first went pear shaped, I had the S H 1 T's really bad, but its been a blessing in disguise really.
I didn't realize how much I missed doing this stuff until I got back into it.

The ol knees and back, take a flogging, but still worth it.

Looks to me that something like a truck ploughed into the back of it, and punched it into something in front.

^^ That and the steering wheel isnt deformed / horn ring broken etc from being hit by a body ... Still wouldnt like to take a hit in one though .What was it Ralph Nader said about Yank cars of that era  " Unsafe at any speed " ..

Big week-end on the Caddy.
I'd thrown together a timber cradle to try and save some dismantling of the air cond, cruise control and power steering, but it did make the room to move about in there a bit tight...... the photo's tell the rest of the story.





















The bonnet now has the insulation infills done and everything came up pretty good. Bit hard to get good pics of the work, but it will look 10 x better once the engine is in again.

How cool does this look.....  Big thumbs up for Shane, he's a true craftsman.
The painted cover is on an unpainted engine, because he dial gauged number 1 to confirm TDC on the balancer against the timing marks.

This tread seems very fitting to post up some of my toys I currently have
The blue one is a 1965 Impala coupe, Started life as a record breaker pro stock drag car in the us until i got it back over here and mainly use it for the occasional race meet or street cruise.
The red on is a 1969 Impala convertable - frame on rebuild built the motor as a good cruiser 370hp fuel injected and 4 speed auto
Also have - pics all to big lol
1972 Ford LTD convertable factory bigblock, p/s and a/c
1996 Dodge Ram
1996 Camaro Z28
2001 Chev Tahoe
and hopefully soon to add 1943 Chev coupe for the misses haha
