We attended the Old Skool Car Show at Caboolture yesterday afternoon, some very nice cars, including a Surferoo Falcon ute. I hope the link works.

Enjoy, unless I've cocked it up.

Couple of Cobra's and a JGS too.

Nice Falcons  ;D
With enough horse power, sheer ignorance and a total lack of respect for your vehicle, you'll get through....

Always loved that Cobra paint scheme, Dont mind the one thats been done in the metalic stripes  either.
Dont see to many  John Goss specials around, I like blue but the green on them  just looks a lot nicer for some reason ..
Probably a lot lesser known is the Allan Moffat special 4 door but I would hazard a guess there would be more of them about though, they didnt seem that much different to a standard GS.

This was a good show, with a cut off at 1986, it removed the Buzz Box Brigade and a lot of the "younger guys" from the festivities.

Hot food was available, live music and a good cross section of cars.

We'll go back again, maybe give it a month or three.  8)
Its a fair hike for us, at two hours traveling time, but geez, the ol Caddy just ate up the miles.

When we left, we cruised along behind a white 52 Chevy...... very nice on a clear Autumn night with this music pouring outta da speakers.

I would, but we're heading off at 6am Sunday morning the Redlands Rockabilly Revival and the grille gets too many bugs in its teeth to have it clean to go again.

Let me know when the next one is and we'll bring the big white Shitbox along.
Who puts it on?

How would you feel if you owned an old red Valiant and this lived in your street.  ;D

2nd Saturday of each month.

Some club in Brisbane do it. They all meet some where and cruise up together. I think they do it down the Gold Coast and Ipswich monthly too.

Could be a great find... could be manure.

QuoteFord Mustang found in Mexican junkyard is from 'Bullitt,' expert confirms

Frank Bullitt couldn't have done a better job cracking this case.

Nearly 50 years after it was last seen, a 1968 Ford Mustang found in a Mexican junkyard has been confirmed to be one of two known to have been used in the filming of the Steve McQueen movie "Bullitt."

"I'm 100 percent sure it's authentic," classic Ford expert Kevin Marti told Fox News after travelling across the border to Mexicali to inspect the car last week.

The car was discovered last year in Baja California Sur by a man named Hugo Sanchez, its then-white body rotting away and its original drivetrain long gone. Hollywood legend had it that the car, which was the film's primary stunt car, had been sent to the junkyard shortly after filming was complete, but a couple of layers of paint sprayed on top of its iconic Highland Green suggest that it had lived several lives before finally ending up in one.

Gone to a new home

Jeepers Creepers

I tell ya what, as long as the hole in my arse points downwards, i'll never get my head around the "i'll leave it to rust before I sell it for $xyz"

I bet a fair amount of those cars are not worth the time and money now to save. Cheaper to just buy a complete "driver quality" car and enjoy.
Parts cars at best. Its a shame, someone once drove those cars home, so proud of their brand new car.

Neighbours coming over to check out the new car.... shiny paint, new car smell.......

Spotted two prime examples earlier this week.  Both outside a good shed. XA/B/C coupe and a sedan with GS markings. Both partially stripped and left to rot. If that's what they keep outside the shed, I'd love to see in it.

Love what these two poms are trying to achieve. Very skilled, funny as and highly entertaining.  Well worth a watch for those into classics or restoration

Hey, how's this for a cool picture.  8)

Been dicking around today while it was raining and cleaned off the chassis rail with a wet cloth.  :o

The date the chassis was completed and ready to be married to the body. Its on upside down, hence the photo being arse up.

Bit of a close up of it. (Bloody clear to read too for a 53 year old car)

Pop the lower part of the rear seat out Kev and have a look for trim build sheets. They're often still there.

Every thing was dated back then. Time, date and shift were cast into most components, then date stamped when finished.

Worst thing I did was show the old man how to decipher Ford codes. He quickly learnt Mums 63 Thunderbird had a 65 model engine and the front end was from a 64. Guess who's already built a 63 front end and is currently building a 63 engine for it ::)

Pics are trim build sheets from 69 in a Chevelle I had in a few weeks ago.
