Nice one Rusty. This is the one I'm giving my brother a hand with. It used to be a CFAs' captains car. I've been cutting a chunk of rust out (drivers side floor pan, sills, bottom of front guards etc ). Got a long way to go but we're not rushing it.

Take it easy on the motor when you do start driving it.

Sitting around, does 'em no good what so ever.
I DON'T CARE HOW NICE THE HAND SOAP SMELLS.....

You should never walk out of the public toilets sniffing your fingers.

My uncle was the first person to race that car and to also smash it, his name can be seen on the side of the car.

That's him, had a successful career both in Australia and O/S. He also had a huge influence  in Mark Webber's   development in his F1 career.
Not sure another of his famous race car would command huge dollars , a Volvo 242 GT which he raced at Bathurst in 1979, a car they took straight from the showroom, drove it to the mountain, still with road tyres  and finished in 20 th position out of 62 starters. They then drove the car back to the Sydney the following day..
Still living life and until recently could be found racing in  historical race meetings.

The 242 GT is rarer than a couple of the Holden and Ford specials - there were only 600 made for Australia. They're slowly creeping up in value, but no where near the $$s of the Ford/Holdens.

That 242 is alive and well in the Volvo circles - hopefully you can the thread on Turbobricks:

Peter posts on OzVolvo, but as many of the guys there who are into 240s came from Turbobricks, TB is kept upto date a bit more.
