The ol Zephyrs were a good car.
They shat all over the Holden's of the time and were right there with the Falcons.

The Valiant were in a league of their own performance wise.

This is the first ever Z car I bought in 1977.
I paid $300 for it.... came with every accessory and nic nak known to mankind at the time.
I also had an XY Falcon wagon at the time.

I was given this 1936 Ford 5 window coupe in 77 as well.
It had raced at the Ekka and Archerfield Speedways under the name of Fruit Loops.

Was pretty good fun until we finally killed it.

At the old Caboolture Speedway, they use to tuck the ambo's down behind a tree in case some wanker got out of control.

I had a mk4 Zepher about 35 yrs ago. It was an awesome  bit of gear. Came factory with a v6, top loader and an independent rear end. A 302 or 351 would pretty well slip straight in. It looked more or less like a mk4 Cortina with the turret moved back about a foot. Don't  see alot of them in Oz.

Yep, that's it. They didn't like hot days and traffic combined, unless the cooling system was spot on.
A car a bit ahead of its time really.

Its pretty cool, old stuff coming out of everywhere. Makes me want to go racing again.

This would be about 96 and i'm pretty sure its the Winternationals.
Would only be running 8:00's or 8:10's here.

Yep thats the jigger. Rip the spare out chuck in a 3 core radiator, 351, glue an HR grill on the front and Roberts you mothers brother.
