I used to love watching The Two Ronnies when I was growing up...big loss to the comedy community
The smell of bacon proves aromatherapy isn't total bull$/!t

Grew up watchin the Ronnies..

Funny story, Corbett was a good friend of our neighbours - The McNallys... and one day the old man was tryin to start the mower one day (the old wind the cord around it and try again) swearing at it intensely and this bloke said from next door 'avin troubles are you'.. Dad nearly pissed his pants when he saw who it was! Being pommy the old man, Pete McNally and Ronnie all chatted away for a while.

RIP

I am the same, I grew up watching the Two Ronnies. A sad loss.

The two Ronnies ran for 16 years. That's an incredible run. One of the last from the golden era of light entertainment.

...And its a final goodbye from him.

hear hear - but if you put him on the box in front of the current generation they'd all think "what the...?"

loved his other shows like "no thats me over here" and his movie appearances - but I didn't like the way he insisted on having his own segment where he sat in a chair and bored most people after he found out that the 'mystery writer' for the two ronnies (gerald wiley) was ronnie barker

Don't know about that - we've got a few 2 Ronnies series on DVD &  our 2 boys (20 & 14) love them. Have also recently introduced them to Monty Python & same - must have inherited my sometimes warped sense of humour!  :D

that's good to know, the younger do seem to appreciate 70s humour - one of my bosses has children who were around 12 yrs old when the paul Hogan shows were re-run a few years back and they loved them - not so the gen-y's at my work...   ::)
