G'day all,

Heading down to Melbourne in a few weeks with the Mrs, I've never been there before, the Mrs has though....... It's just the two of us heading down.

Chasing some must do recommendations from local Melbourne folk, what's your "Top 5" things you recommend doing while there, suitable things for a bloke and his Mrs to see n do. No kids entertainment required, just grown up stuff. >:D

Now before the vulgarity begins, I'm meaning as in things we can't do elsewhere............  ;D

We'll be staying somewhere in the city centre area......

Thanks in advance.

Barrabart.

Eureka Sky Deck, MCG Tour (or a games of something at any of the stadiums - there is always something on), Shrine - Galleries of Remembrance, Young and Jacksons, lunch in Degraves lane, City Circle Tram Tour, a show at any of the theatres.   What are you and your wife into and when exactly are you coming.

Oh, and bring a jumper!

Cheers

Melbourne Museum
Great ocean road day trip (do the helicopter flight)
Swmbo went to Phillip island to see penguins
Melbourne zoo
And any on the gazillion eating precincts throughout the city.
Art gallery
The big arse church on the corner (St James i think ? ? ? ) in the city

Really like melbourne lots to see & do but the crowds of people do get to me after a while
I'm sure the local will offer better info but these are some of the things we enjoyed as visitors

All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible.

I enjoyed the Old Melbourne Gaol and the Watch-house Tour.  But I'm a bit of a history tragic.

St Kilda beach is way overrated IMO but heading to the pier at dusk to watch the Little Penguin Colony is great fun

Wandering round Victoria Markets if a good way to kill an hour or two as well

my wife is a Melbournian.

She strongly suggests Puffing Billy in the Dandenong ranges. There is a brilliant restaurant in Gembrook called the independent.
