I thought this was going to be naughty!  ;D

The water is sooo clear & blue. Probably because nothing can survive in it. Maybe the three eyed fish from Springfield would ;D

It would also be highly acidic.  The pH would be somewhere around 3.
Do not PM me for technical advice - start a thread.

I wouldn't. But many have jumped into the nearby Poison waterhole. I see they are threatening to fine people who swim there now.

Mount Frosty is the go if it's got water in it. I think Main Roads used it as a water supply when doing up the highway a few years ago & sorely depleted it.
Fountain Springs is another good swimming hole (with shade) albeit a bit further afield.

they closed the place back in the early 80's i think it was, then sold off all the township that was located there in a big auction. You can visit the old township site as an overnight free camp, it's like a ghost town of sorts, but just roads and old house slabs etc.

Some one must have a active mining lease over the land and claiming an exemption over working it, to claim the mine is active, otherwise it is not active, is it.

i'd guess you are correct Re: someone having an active lease on the land, but there's nothing active about that particular area though. Who ever owns the land is responsible in a way for stopping people gaining access to the dam and getting injured there, hence the fence around it and talk of prosecutions for trespassing etc.

I guess it must be an active lease although I didn't see any activity there from 1989 to 2003 when I lived and worked in the region. There are some nice water holes in the area. Here is a link with some directions for anyone who is interested.

Easy to find......follow the dirty road and you will see two small signs fixed to trees, hang a right and follow you nose.

We just had a look from the top.......I don't think we were nuked
