Where do people in Melbourne the planes coming? I've heard there is a public place where plane geeks can go and watch the planes land.
There's 2 areas for plane spotting. One at the north end on the road to Sunbury. Great spot for kids as there's usually a Mr Whippy van there.

The other is on the west side on Operations Road.

Btw, plane spotting is what happens in these car parks during the day. I've heard the same locations have a different use of a night

We have ferocious winds here at the moment, between me and the neighbour we have around 10 trees down at the moment. Not sure if I can get to work tomorrow, one of my trees are over his drive. Will report more when it settles down, inside bunkered down at the moment

My house got flattened. Roof gone. Structurally a mess. Cruiser roof crushed.  Lucky none of us were home. Now living in hotel rooms for 12 months. But no real issue. It's just a house. Others lost their lives. Think of the hell those families are living.

That's the part I'd be most hurt about. They'll repair the house but I doubt they'll do that for the beloved cruiser & it's hard to replace what you didn't want to replace.
Sorry to hear mate, good that you and your family are safe & well though

Worst part is roof is slightly crushed. Should be fixable? Rest is a respray and some minor dents.

Insured for $25k with Shannon's. Let's see.  Can't even get a tow truck up as road is blocked by a monster tree.

The Killa Concepts roof cage took the brunt of it.

Sorry to see that destruction mate. Nature can be ugly at times.

Hopefully Shannons have better policies for you then most other insurers.
A few years ago after seeing the carnage left by some big storms on the Gold Coast, I was doing the ring around before my renewal and I asked everyone the same question, sadly got the same answer from everyone.

Q; If I have my boat hooked up to my car and they're both parked in front of my garage (not inside), then a tree comes down in a storm and flattens the boat, the car and the house, will you replace everything?

A; NO. Only the boat, the house and the contents are covered for storm damage.

I hope everything works out for you though.

UPDATE:

Shannon's wrote the car off as a repairable write off

I bought the wreck for $3k. Can get it fully repaired and resprayed for $19.5k.

Payout was $25k minus the $3k purchase, so I'm ahead.

It doesn't get registered as a write off as it is over 15 years old. It's is all just panel damage. Nothing structural or mechanical.

I could have taken the $25k and started again, but like many of you, I've put too much into this car just to walk away.
