Looks like we might cop some of that east coast weather over here in the west on the weekend. Be good to see some (hopefully) decent rain  for a change.
Dry as an arab sandle over here.

Twas an interesting night round our way, the wind and rain woke me it was that loud and fierce !

Definitely was, most of the damage was only about 2 kms from me and about 150 m from my partners house. We are both senior members of our SES unit... so needless to say we didn't get much rest. We both did Rapid Impact Assesments for the first 5 hours.. I've never seen anything like it. I ended up taking over as Incident Controller at 10 am, as part of my role I worked with an investigation team from the BOM. This was quite interesting and was able to provide them with details of timings and initial reports from the community. They have since confirmed that it was a Tornado that hit Waurn Ponds.

First day of winter and 13.5mm of rain already today...

Lots of Snow on the way... Mt Dandenongs and up...

While Friday morning's blue skies were a bit of sweet relief for Melburnians wrestling with stage four lockdown, a continuous blast of cold air that brought heavy rain and hail earlier this week will bring more storms this weekend.

Blossoms may be inching out of buds and there are large windows of blue skies, but senior forecaster at the Bureau of Meteorology Tim Bolden says a slow-moving mass of cold air is bringing bitterly cold weather up from the southern ocean and will hang around for at least the next few days.
