They are a day late - usually they're on sale on Boxing Day in Woolworths in Moe.

Ok, It's Storm season, has been for nearly two months, we loose power from trees falling on lines, from poles being damaged.
Yesterday afternoon, it started to rain, not heavy and we lost power.
90 minutes later it was restored, a tree weakened by a storm about 10 days ago fell onto wires. Essential Energy had it repaired pretty quick.
Yet in local groups, people were blaming EE for the loss of power, sure it was warm, but not bloody hot or unbearable, yet they were whinging and calling for our council to take responsibility.
Have people lost the plot completely these days?
We purchased a 3.6kva genny last year, because we loose power often, we have a gas cook top and oven, we have a gas lantern installed next to the cooktop.
We have LED lights at the ready,

We have guaranteed service levels, which I would think all States have?  For extended outages, (24hr plus?) we receive automatic credits on our account.  We have has two payments of $100  over the past 8 years.  Payments are capped at $160.  Aurora will also provide documentation for your private insurer if your policy so covers.

Further to my post.
I wasn't the only one to question others responsibilities. I have since learnt that Essential Energy will, in the event of a power failure assist with a Genny back up for those on power reliant medical machines(home dialysis, etc), they do encourage patients to be prepared for power outages.

   Last major outage resulted in some hundreds of weekend shack owners on Bruny Island getting a windfall payment even if they had left the power turned off at the time.

easy to setup? Dude used to work with was a Pi nerd for everything around the place, I've never played.. bought one to setup Mame32 on but never bothered after buyin it

Not hard, mate... plenty of guides to step you through... I set mine as the main DNS for the internal network... works a treat... I have been thinking about buying a current pi to upgrade...
