With all the economic doom and gloom coming are the politicians going to tighten their belts and forgoe some of their entitlements, perks and salaries?
Apparently the Qantas executives are taking a pay cut and stopping their bonuses.
Will be nothing in comparison to the lost wages of their 20,000+ staff being stood down today.
But at least it's some sort of leadership.

Hello, broadcast deal. That's where the money is so good on them I reckon as I have been waiting for my fix again for a while now :cup:

Will be interesting to see if the losing teams use the lack of crowd as an excuse. Played plenty of bush footy with only 100 - 200 people at the ground so if they can only play in front of thousands of people they aren't that committed

I'm wondering about liability ???

If a player picks a dose up from another player, is the NRL "liable", because they said the team "has" to play ??? ::)

When [not if], the AFL and the NRL suspend the season will the broadcaster want a pro rata refund?

Eddie,
You have three choices,
1) You can got 50/50
2) You can ask the audience
Or
3) You can ask a friend.
You've got 10 seconds.

Alan Joyce is forgoing 6  months of his salary. Last year his base salary was $2.17m but his total remuneration was $23.8m. So he is giving up either $1.086m or $11.9m. Not sure which. Either way I  expect to see him lining up at the soup kitchen in the very near future.

Probably no more than if any other employee picks up a dose from a fellow  worker.

Our company  owner came back from USA last Monday and tested positive.  In a way it was good timing as he had to self isolate by law and not come straight to work as per normal.

We have about 21,300 members and conservatively say 10% who are active so that is 2,130 who may or may not see your question. Australia has a population of 24.6M with 709 confirmed cases of Covid-19 so around 0.003% of the population if my maths is correct. The chances of someone here personally knowing a person with Covid-19 is very slim, not impossible, but very slim.

No one can avoid that, to some it just comes a little earlier than others. I am not concerned by Corona but I am concerned by what it is doing to our economy based around the current rates of infections and rate of deaths the measures in place seem more harmful than the virus itself.
Maybe I'm just a dumb son of a bitch but I don't get it.

A bloke at work has a friend who works for an international company. This company is giving every employee $250USD to purchase a desk and chair to work from home. The total $12,250,000.00USD.

You can already claim a tax deduction for genuine home office expenses, so I think this will be a given.  You should be able to claim a portion of your power, internet, water, mobile phone, etc as I understand it.
