 9/09/09 Mstree  & myself were At Yellow bus camp on the Merty Merty Rollar Coaster heading South on the way home from Birdsville Races . We scratched our mark on the back of the bus to tell all & others we were there  .
Where were you 5 years ago . & have you made the last 1/2 decade count  .
Time to reflect   ,    & make a move if you need to

We had just moved to the North Coast of Nsw and looking forward to the next chapter in our lives.  The kids are five years older and in high school, giving me cheek.  Been on some great trips around SE Qld and Northern NSW, as well as Cape York and Uluru.  I hope we can do more in the next five years.

I was working as an electrical ta and about a month away from being signed up as a 1st year sparky at 34, now im a tradie with nearly a years experience under the belt and am now doing training to further my trade.

On the 9th Sept 09, I was 9 months to the day in PNG.... and still thinking why the bloody 'ell did I leave Laos to come to PNG........... anyway I stuck with it, and still there in PNG............  still have very fond memories of Laos, but have also made some real good mates in PNG.... and glad I did the hard yards....

I was a month out from getting married (11.10.09), quietly Shitting myself in prep for the big day...

5 years on, we have a two year old daughter, I quit my job as a lifty and started my own business. I've never been so time strapped in my life, but I'm carving out a future for our family, everything is looking peachy and I wouldn't change a thing (unless I won lotto...)

5 years ago I was 19, trying to finish my carpentry trade I couldn't get there as I only have 3 months left and I started doing some days here and there for a mates company, 5 years on I'm married and have two little boys and I am a small business owner and work full time and studying to get my fire engineering degree. Maybe that's why I'm getting a few greys now

2009 I don't remember 2014

not long married and living in a rental.
and still trying to decide if I was good at my job
now have 2 crazy but amazing children and in process of building our second home.
and still in same job but am now one of the longest running workers in our team as well as the youngest still. must be doing something right.

really all in all not bad for a 26yr old
can easily say I have had some of the best and worse days of my life in last 5 years.

I had just returned from the Prado Point get together at the red centre and the lovley people at work notified me that I had been made redundant due to the GFC and made one of the best decisions of my life by buying a camper trailer with the payout

I was at those same Birdsville races in 09!
After the races did a trip out to Poeppel Corner, remember they trip fondly.

Had a 5 day old, so not much that day!  Now he's nearly off to school...lots changes in 5 years!
