Hello everyone,

So after much research and reading I've decided to buy an australian made, offroad, good quality, used, late model(no more than a few years old), soft floor camper trailer.
Budget 10g-15g.
It needs to be tough as in cape ready.

So far I've looked into Modcon and  trackabout  but are there any others worth looking at?

Any suggestions will be appreciated

Hi Jakster1

How about a good second hand Aussie Swag hard floor?  I can't get over the price that this is being advertised for.  See link.

FYI, I'm not related to the person selling it.

Hopefully not a Scottish hamburger!

Wow thanks for the quick replys gents. I thought there were only a handful of manufacturers that met the requirements but it seems I was wrong.
That's the thing tho, this will be a great reference point of what to look for now.
Keep em coming

I have an Australian made, off-road, good quality 07 Modcon that you could have for well under your budget!! Has conquered the cape, has most of the mod cons, soft floor rear fold...

You could buy a lot of beer coming in that far under budget - Just a thought! :-)

As others have said plenty around, you have lifestyle, Customline, camel and trackabout and those are just 4 within about 50 k of each other in Brisbane

Before I moved over to a hard floor I had a Trackabout Safari. Loved it and built like a tank!

Trackabout......... can't go wrong. :cup:

I say this because they have such an excellent name for quality..... and therefore resale value..
Buy yourself a good second hand Deluxe or Safari...... own and look after it...... when u go to sell it in a few years you'll more than likely get your $$ back.

Oh and pretty sure you could get yourself a Kakadu too, brand new for those $$ ......... just a thought.
Trackabout Safari towed by an old HJ75 Cruiser Tray Back.. Lovin'it!!!

You will get lots of answers on that question as we all love our own campers.

We have an Outback Tanami.  Its still pretty new but we LOVE it.  It has everything a caravan has but half the price and no confining walls!!!

Its our second outback camper.  We preiously had a Sturt and loved that as well.

They are located in Carrum Downs, the staff are all excellent and their follow up is equally as good.

The dream - to travel like a snail with my home behind me, seeing every inch of Australia.

Life is a gift and too short to waste.

Jakster1

Yep, with sooooo many cheap imports around the place it's like a needle in a haystack finding out which to look at and which to not waste my time.
There is a lot of bling on some of those new cheapies and the spiel on them makes out that they are awesome but I'm not convinced.
That's why I'm Looking for Aussie built quality.

Got my eye on a nice mod con, just need the minister of war and finance to approve
