Bloke on another forum was saying that The Springs 4wd park between Warwick & Stanthorpe was hit by bush fires Tue-Wed last week.

His 4wd club went out over the weekend to help clear things up, then the place had a ripper of a storm go through on Saturday night! A lot of rain after a long dry, so the creeks all broke their banks & they're trying to clean up bush-fire debris during a flood!

Cradle Mountain. After doing some short walks the last few days, I did the summit via Hansons Peak returning Wilks Lake. The weather was perfect and the views were spectacular. Best one I've ever done.

Drizzle & a couple of light showers yesterday, enough to make things unpleasant if you're in a tent (or cooking outside ), but also nice & cool! Sun is well & truly out this morning though, so it's likely going to be hot

They have been having rain though, so the whole area is beautifully lush & green

& int town last night for obligatory dinner at the Royal Rathy!

Logging in from Vienna, been here a few days, a few more to go before a few weeks to get to Hamburg, then over to UK and home for Christmas. It nice and cold here, very light snow today. Next week in Salzburg is supposed to be -14.

Thanks Bird, I am pretty useless at posting pics, if someone can give me simple instructions for picking up photos from my iPad camera roll will give it a go. I did it a few years ago after cape trip but I think that was from my PC.

Currently in Berlin, have logged in previously from Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Zurich. Heading to Hamburg before a flight to Amsterdam then over to UK for a quick visit then home for Christmas.

Not much to report from a camping / outdoorsy point of view as it's winter here and not really the weather for those type of activities. We had plenty of snow early on, but none in last few days and there is only a few random patches of unmelted snow around the place now, everything just stays wet.

On the 4WD front, not much to report there either. I have seen one Prado, a Ram 1500 and a new Ranger dual cab, that's it. BMW and Audi have the SUV market covered, but there are a few Rav's used as taxis. Should also add that the Mercedes AMG G63 is pretty popular (in matt black).
