There was a bench grinder at Crime Converters in Shep a week or so back . l was only looking  , sometimes you get a bargain . Use the fine wheel & quench the blade often , if it get to hot it wont hold an edge for long . l used to change my blades each day to keep fresh edges happening

Use a bench grinder on your blades  , the angle grinder is a butchers tool

Disagree. I use a 120 grit flap disc on a 4 inch grinder, don't even take the blades off the mower, takes 10 seconds and I get a plenty good edge for mowing grass.

kylarama

Fitted a Jaycar remote keyless entry system to the daughters 97 Rav4.

Ended up having to do a mercy dash to Repco to grab a couple of relays.
Half way through I discovered the Rav4's central locking is negative switched and the remote I got is positive triggered.
Wired them up in a jiffy box to change the remote to negative trigger. Even hooked it up to the indicators!

Now she has 2 remotes and 1 very very worn key. Too worn to have a copy made...

Yeah, those thongs are a bit too flimsy to tie up anything with a bit of weight. Heavy duty occy straps work better....  ;D
4.2L TD Toyota Troopy, (Clarke's Country Camper Trailer, softfloor.) sold it and bought a Avan Ray small poptop caravan.

Now that our garage is being used for playing table tennis and not just parking cars and working on stuff, i.e. the missus is now in the garage, she says it is too hot and has given the ok to work out some cooling. So the question is, what do people use for cooling such a big area with a big roller door that acts as a radiator? Should I just go a huge floor standing fan, roof is too low for ceiling fans, or get a portable a/c?
I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go...

Finally finished a table for out the back area. I came across some Norfolk Island pine slabs about a year ago. They were a bit cracked in spots, but had an unusual black fungus marking through the grain.
I experimented with some coloured epoxy in the cracks(ground them out a bit) to stabilise them. Danish oil finish on the top, as I didnt want a gloss finish outside. Different light brings out different colours. Overall reasonably happy with the finished result. About 40 - 50 hrs involved I reckon. But its only work if you'd rather be somewhere else.?
Time for a beer I reckon.

Cheers Glen

Cheers guys. Next is a few burl or slab coffee tables for the man cave/music room. Might try a bit of fractal burning and coloured resin.

Nice job. Makes me jealous. I used to do stuff like that, but I left all of my power tools in the USA because of the voltage difference. If I'd known how things were going to pan out when I moved back here, I would have brought them.

BaseCamp

That slab looks fantastic!!
I want, I want....
But I'm guessing if 1 was for sale the price should go something like this...

50hrs x Craftsman Rate @ $90ph?
= $4,500
+ the piece of raw timber $500?
+ epoxy and materials $200?
+ Transportation
+ gst
= $ cry, cry, cry
