After ordering a new 21.6m x 9m shed in early January, it has finally been approved, erected, concreted and now the power has been connected.

In the coming weeks, the concrete floor will be painted, and the bathroom completed, then I will be able to start using my dream shed...  :cup:

After all that, did you settle for the small shed? :cup:

Well done.  Is the house built yet?

Honestly top looking shed, well done!

Thanks - The house is still under construction. About a week from lockup.

If all goes well, we think we will be moving in by Early December.  ; :)

It still won't be big enough.

It never is.

I have shed envy!

Question though is will you let your family fill your shed with gardening stuff, kids toys and other cr@p from the house? I had to build another smaller shed but that was quickly filled with overflow. I have since given up fighting the war, for the moment.

Awesome shed mate, there's some good times to be had in that! Or some big messes to clean

Hoyks

After a dry spell and a bit of bit of rain, the clover burr and binides have been exploding out of the ground and the grass is struggling to catch up. Time to fight back with mechanized weapons >:D!

I bought myself a cheap 50L motorised spray-tank off ebay, re-wired the ride-on so it now has a merit plug down the back end and a on/off switch on the dash.
I plumbed in a T piece so I can either run the hand lance or a boom spray made from some poly with micro irrigation sprayer nozzles.

Surprisingly it works like a charm 1st go! Rather than wearing out my shoulder pumping up the hand sprayer and a dozen trips to the shed to re-fill, I can fill the tank and do most of the yard in one go.

The only issues I can see so far are:

  • the spray nozzles shoot the spray about 500mm either side of the mowers width which could lead to some collateral damage.
  • when I flick the OFF switch the nozzles on the boom continue to dribble.

The spray pattern can probably be adjusted to keep it more under control.

For the dribble, I thought about installing a solenoid to provide a more positive seal when I shut it off, but it will probably not fix it as I think the issue is probably also due to the diameter of the boom tube and air getting in there.

Right now it is in the trailer for the ride-on, but I plan to make a carrier so I can clip it onto the mower it's self.

All up and running for around $160, I may even have some grass left when I have finished. ;D

Brings back memories Crisp,  i built sets for my two girls dance concerts from the time they were six until they gave it up at about eighteen, lots of hard work but its very satisfying isnt it. Do you work back stage as well?

Yes do the backstage stuff. I know how it all works so i need to be there in case something does not work as it should. This year we have lots of electrical controlls in the sets so i am hoping my designs prove themselves. There will be some nervious moments i think.

Looks good. What timber did you use and how much does it weigh?. Some people use a Bamboo pole and I sometimes use a hoe handle I got from the green shed but it's a bit too heavy for long hikes.

Changed the alligator clamps on my new thumper compressor to an anderson plug. Set my auto deflators and installed a dash cam in my father's car. I also rewired his UHF that he'd done himself (terrible job).

My knob was all worn, the outer skin was ripped, and the tip all shiny from being held too much and too tight...

So I fitted a new virgin knob that's never had a hand on it.
