Spent more hours today copying some more of my CD's onto PC onto USB.
All up 6 hours so far and a 1/4 done...many more hours to go but will be worth it in the end having a master copy on hard disc drive.

Today the Paj had it Per trip clean . SWOMBO went at it with a frenzy of cleaning . Vaced , wiped & washed almost everything standing still . Gezzzz lm clean now . Found all sorts of things in the truck , an old news paper worth another read . Shame about the Titanic  . Packed all the kit l hope we wont need on the Cape run , but will take any way  . Yeah, I know what you mean.. I've got about another 900 odd to redo out of about 980. I originally only did them in MP3 (VBR >256kbps) for the car stereo, but re-doing them in flac, to stream via a Raspberry Pi setup, for the house stereo.
What progs do you use to rip, tag and manage your collection?
I use Exact Audio Copy to rip and tag, so it's pretty much automatic. But it is easier adding artwork via my library manager, MediaMonkey Gold.

i use EAC as well to rip, and this program to tag:

I've Just been using windows media player to copy and then sinc with the USB.

I am sure there are probably other quicker methods out there for doing the same thing.....but I have found some issues...that need to be sorted before I can move the copied CD over to the sinc box.

Some CD's....but not all....will appear with a totally different name to them and also appear with song titles that do not correspond at all to what has just been copied, but when you click on a song, they are what they should be. I have no idea why this occurs but it means I have to not only edit the CD Title but also rename each and every song.
Remember I started out with just the intention of copying over only my favourite CD's to USB, but then changed my mind and decided to catalogue and copy EVERYTHING. Some of these CD's are nearly 30 years old and are no longer able to be replaced and I am not sure they were produced with the correct data attached ??
The only other reason I can think of that could be causing this problem is some program in my PC ....but I have no idea and am plodding along as accurately as possible. Only seems to be a problem with 5-10 percent of them.
Annoying yes...but not a huge issue.

Forgot to mention...all CD's copied at best quality setting.

there are cheaper options for the 12v sockets (narva tend to be the dearer, but are excellent quality IMO) and for the andersons, but i have bought from these places before with no issues.

like i said, i had all the items from an older battery box.  i actually preferred my smaller battery box (earlier in the thread) with a smaller 24ah battery and a smaller toolpro case, because the battery fit better in the small case.

if i was building one from scratch, i would choose the 24ah fullriver battery linked above...

I'm not familiar with how WMP handles album tagging, as I have rarely even used it for anything, but it will access an online database to lookup your CD and transcribe the metadata to WMP to be written to your ripped files. In EAC, you have the choice of a couple of different databases to lookup, via a selection button. Once the CD has been "looked up" it allows you to choose between the different entries if there are more than one listing. Remember, the details have been added to the database by other people using the database, so not always correct. I find I get close to 99% accuracy, with only a few spelling mistakes, or maybe a very obscure CD not being listed at all. EAC also handles error detection very well and can rip CDs that other progs usually fail on. It can also embed covers, but I find it a bit slow at finding better quality jpgs (and I'm a fussy bugger so all my covers are 500X500 with no rough edges), so I find them online and add using MM.

But I found between EAC and MediaMonkey (which is the best managing program I have seen so far) I didn't have a need for it.
