Built this for the pootrol :)
you might want to reconsider the area around the fridge - they need air circulation around them, around 2inch all round.. (more are the merrier)

Fridge has a good 250mm air gap behind it, 100mm on top, and I have cut the sides out of the box where they overlay the vents on the sides of the  fridge case, plus the shelf over the top has 3x80mm holes in it over the rear of the fridge also.

Or do you feel that's not going to be adequate?

Never built a storage unit for the car before, so guidance is always welcome.

Spada

Not today, but spread over the last 4 weeks,

Santa was kind enough to leave this under my tree-

It's 19 years old and on the surface didn't look too bad. I new I was going to need to do some tidy up on it, but once it started coming apart I realised things were a bit worse than expected. There was some pretty serious rust in the chassis that wasn't evident from the outside.

So it was stripped back to this, and the rebuild started -

With a bit of help from some mates (that can weld & paint better than me, and will work for beer) it was taken back to bare chassis, all the rust was cut out, lots of stuff was repainted, all worn parts (steering assembly mostly) were replaced, and the electrics were tidied up. Just about every nut and bolt has been replaced, I had a few bits powder coated, and it has had a full colour change. A bit of hunting from some American websites saw a few goodies get purchased (light kit, seat covers, carbon fibre dash, sports steering wheel), and this week-end was final assembly. I know its not camping related, but I'm well chuffed with the outcome  :D

The missus has to pass the 'Queens College Step Test' as part of her physical at work. She couldn't find a step suitable so my apprentice and I made this today. It has been ages since I used my Triton and it was good to break out the tools.

Nice clean work Jamie. I'm building pelmets for all our windows but my handiwork doesn't bear up to close range photo inspection like yours. A1

Thanks, not bad for an IT guy, if I do say so myself :)

I actually tried something new today. I glued and stapled the base frame together and then pre-drilled, glued and screwed the uprights in. Worked like a charm and allowed me to get it all square. I was also trying to minimise the cuts and timber I needed. In the end I used 3 x 600x900x12mm ply sheets and 2 x 75x50x900 shorts. You can see the minimal offcuts in the background were put to good use to make a race track :)

Now version 2, I moved the 'handles' down in line with the screws and gave it a varnish.

Finished the install of my hoist after a bit of a false start last w/end. got stuck into it yesterday arvo & this morning.

I can full height out of the Val, but not the Cruiser and wife's Pajero. We knew that from the outset though. The boat will live on the hoist & the camper underneath. The Val will have a bay to itself. Everything back under lock and key, just the way I like it.
Cheers, Mike.

Thanks mate.  My pop had Chargers back in the day,  uncle had Vals and so did my old man. Dad had an 80 cm regal wagon, cream, 265 and floor shift auto. Awesome vehicle.  My hardtop is 245 with a small cam, electronic ignition,  350 holley,  extractors with a fat pipe. 3 on the tree and all original inside. He's just a cruiser.
