Had a sheet of ABS plastic that work was going to throw away..........

Also had a vacant space between the front seats in the 70 series......

Cut the plastic to size, heated it in the oven and bent it to shape............

Glued it all together...................

Covered it with carpet and stuck it in place, hey presto....extra space to put stuff.
Total cost, $15.  ;D

Nice work :-)

Cheers, Thanks.

Cause the base is moulded to the tunnel, it just sits there. But just to be sure, I put some stick-on Velcro hooks on the bottom that latch onto the floor carpet.

Well, I've just stopped for some tucker after commencing the assembling of some pieces of store bought DIY furniture. Not Ikea but close to a dead ringer copy.
The trouble with the items I have to put together is that the instructions are schematic only, drawn by a 4 year old in some remote Chineses province using a piece of charcoal ???
So much for my alcohol free week I was intending >:(

I just put the oven on full whack and waited until the plastic went floppy. Took about 10 minutes.

I put the plastic on a sheet of baking paper in a baking tray, and also heated a second tray at the same time.

Once the plastic was soft enough, I used the second tray as a lid, which kept the plastic warm and soft while I carried it up to the shed. Then just grab the baking paper by the ends and sit the plastic in place. Still had to manipulate the shape a bit, but I used a wet chux to push it into shape and cool the plastic.

The plastic I used came from underneath a photocopier that we had replaced at work. It's about 4mm thick.

Now I'm looking at what else I can make out of the left overs ?

Hi all
Have been on this for a while, a wood working bench to replace a much smaller one.
I need to cut the mortises in the top to fit it, and then fit the leg vise.
Buying a camper and playing with that has slowed my progress.
Good fun

Cleaned it out, now to start filling it up again.

Did u do the floor and whats involved in the process, how much did it cost and where do ya get the gear from to do it???

Sorry for the late reply Brumbypt Not sure how I missed the notification ???
I did this myself with a kit.
The garage floor is painted with epoxy floor paint from
http://www.rustoleum.com/product-catalog/consumer-brands/epoxyshield/professional-floor-coating/
Painting the garage floor was easy, it only took an hour. But like all other jobs that involve paint the hardest and most time consuming part was the preparation.
Every crack was ground out, filled and then the concrete was ground flat. It was acid washed twice and left to dry for 4 weeks.
Total perpetration took around 2 months.
The paint is a little fussy and needs to be mixed correctly and left to cure for a certain time frame depending on the temperature, and must be painted before the epoxy goes off (drys and sets rock hard).
The paint is around 2 yrs old in that photo and is still perfect. No paint peeling from hot tyre pick up, and is very easy to keep clean.
The kit was $250 from memory, I bought it from the local paint shop. The other bits and pieces like acid wash, concrete grinder hire, crack fillers, brushes, rollers etc etc etc etc bought it up to around $700.
Keep clear of the cheaper water based epoxy kits.
cheers Campa

Not in the garage but close by!
I'm cleaning the bird poo off the camper after returning from Rainbow Beach.

Not exactly man cave, but put in plenty of hours on the boat.

On-board automated fire system removed, so I can get to the hot water system, then realise, that won't come out with the floor still in and only the hatch open, bugger it.

Remove most of the rear seating area, so I can lift the main floor. Then find out, its too heavy for one to do, so grab a mate and bingo, floor out.

Undo hot water system, but stuffed if I could work out how to release, the hot and cold fitting.  ???

A plumber at the marina sorted that bit and it was dead easy, once ya knew how.

Hot water out and start cleaning the engine room and bilge etc. Now, I might have gone a touch overboard here (marine joke) as I ended doing a spray and wipe job on everything in there, floor, walls, pipe work, you name it, I've cleaned it.

Now I just gotta wait for the new one to arrive and put it all back together next week-end. Yabba Dabba do.....  :D

Yesterday:

Fitted a second jockey wheel mount to the opposite (drivers) side of the draw bar.

Removed the tailgate.
Repaired the tear in the rear cross frame of the camper from the seized tailgate hinge.
Removed and repaired the hinge & cleaned and lubed all 3 hinges.
Flipped the repaired hinge and 'flipped' it, so the tail gate can be partially slid off, to lube the shafts.
Fitted a stop to preclude the tailgate being completely removed.

Tailgate now operating 'smooth as'.  :D
