RAIN ON DUST OUTBACK SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Over 8 weeks of travelling up and down the Oodnadatta and Birdsville tracks in remote South Australia I documented rivers and creeks in flood, many that feed into Lake Eyre. Some of this country has not been accessed by anyone but me and I had to make my own track into several areas to be able to film it properly. I damaged my car in the process of 1 trip out. Some of this land has been dry for years and the change after water is just amazing to see. I used my Phantom 4 pro for most of this footage and my mobile phone for 1 small section of footage I took from the ground and 1 section of the swans with my camera and a 500mm lens. As I am still learning about filming and editing and there is a lot to learn but it is fun and has given me a chance to document areas with the height required at minimal cost and at the right time of day and the right angle which generally I could not have achieved in a plane or helicopter. Just like normal photography composition and light are crucial in the air for the best results and I camped out here every visit to make it happen looking for different elements to document or the same ones in different light. This is just a small sample of the footage and photos I took bundled into 5 and a half minutes.

Jeepers Creepers

I would consider myself maybe a tad above average on a motorbike...... but for me, going around that course has broken bones and lots of 'em written all over it.
I DON'T CARE HOW NICE THE HAND SOAP SMELLS.....

You should never walk out of the public toilets sniffing your fingers.

Street circuits are a little different.. Bathurst no matter how well you thought you knew it there was that bit of self doubt in ya head, and I could never go 100% there. Amaroo/Oran/EC/Wakefield you could just do what you liked as theres runoff (well not so much at Amaroo, but **** that was my favorite place!).
They even had a race down south coast/Port Kembla way in the 90's but it never took off

Birdman did you race Bathurst back in the day and the other circuits ? ..
A mate of mine raced those tracks quite a lot back in the day, just thinking you did you might have known him, his names Bill McCulloch . http://www.halfofmylife.com/2014/04/03/where-have-all-the-great-race-bikes-gone/

Only did Bathurst once.. 250 proddy race before I was a fat ****.. It was also the last time the 250's were invited up there :( 50 odd bikes entered but weren't all accepted as too many for safety... it was only a  matter of survival race... everyone wanted the win in that first corner :(
Marshalled up there several times... was an awesome weekend on the piss!
