Also been sampling some "88 Balls", it's a Belgium larger. Very tasty, trouble is being in a smaller size stubbie they don't last long !!

They often have a promo;- $40 per slab & you get a free $20 BCF voucher. Not bad value but xxxx is still a better beer.

XXXX..... I haven't drank it in years, ever since i started getting instant headaches when cracking a can. No joke, i could open a tinny of XXXX Gold and after a couple of mouthfuls go from feeling normal (normal for me anyway  :D), to having a whooping headache.....?? :-[

If you want real beer,  it has to be German.
The laws still in place that it has to be brewed the natural way, not chemically.
Fantastic beer that beats anything supposedly brewed down here.
And no dearer than any crap canned and boxed here. Emu Export anyone?

No style, no class and no sense.

True conosoirs drink German.
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

And I thought it was just me being of a delicate constitution?  same thing, headache after about 4 cans. Mind you, VB does the same thing (my brother drinks it ok? gots ta be sociable like) and carlton cold (mate drinks it and he hates to see me trudge back to mine to grab a couple when I run out ;D) kills me after a few bottles. i try new beers all the time but I always come back to Coopers Pale Ale or 'imported' Becks when I can get it (just a bit of a snob, the aussie made imitation Becks tastes like Shit) - can drink excessive amounts and still feel relatively normal the next day ... unless Bundy rum is involved ....  8) But in reality I'll drink just about any old piss you put in front of me if you call it beer.

Well done, I drank Abbotts for many years. was always guaranteed a cold drink at the bottle shop as no one else drank it.
At BBQ's my cans in the bathtub were easy to pick too.

Abbotts used to be known as the poor mans Crown Lager.  About half a dozen of our "crew" used to make sure the local stock never became short dated.

We were the "sophisticated" drinkers.  ;D ;D

Have you tried the Carlton Mid as a replacement to XXXX Gold?? I'll have a crack at most things, but I can't come at VB or Tooheys New. The old man worked at Tooheys Grafton for years, the biggest headache known to man is bottled in that swamp water .YUK !!
