Nothing like over east in the last few hours, but in the last couple of weeks we have had nearly 400 mm out here in the Great Sandy Desert and Tanami Desert.  Fortunately this was over a three day period 12 days ago.

Don't have a rain guage but I emptied the pool down at least 200 mm at 11:30 last night and it was back full again at 6:30 this morning. Emptied the same amount out before I left for work this morning.

75mm on Monday nights then another 25mm during the day yesterday, and another 112mm last night south west of Beaudesert.

My daughter's school is closed due to flooding. My wife tried to drive into work about 1 hour ago (9:30am) but Beaudesert town centre is cut in two by Spring Creek which runs through the park to those on the east can't go west and vise-versa. She turned around and came back home. The long straight stretch of Mt Lindsay Hwy just south of town has also just gone under and the Logan River bridge on Mt Lindsay Hwy at Laravale will go under shortly and cut the Mt Lindsay there also.

Up at Jimboomba, Millstream Rd has gone under (no surprise there) and also Cusack Lane at the Henderson Bridge is impassable.

cheers

Bom reckons at their auto weather station about 15'k away just up the road 29mm in the past 24 hours, which I find hard to believe, cause people around here have recorded over 200mm in places.

I'm from Bellingen NSW otherwise known as the town that invented flooding.

I have no idea of actual rainfall in scientific terms........just that's it's been a sh@# load over the last couple of days and there's lots more predicted.

And being extremely lucky I have not one, not two but three different water systems to negotiate before I even make it to town. The first is our creek straight out of the forest and she's gushing along, next is the bridge on our road which is normally over the Kalang River (today she's one mitre underwater) and then of course in town there's the majestic Bellinger River, which is naturally enough, flooding. There's also a landslide on the road up the mountain to Dorrigo. Oh the joys of living in the bush.  :-*

Add to that that my 4x4 is in Coffs Harbour getting serviced and I have a Holden Commodore loan car sporting a flat tyre and you start to get the picture >:(

The Missus was expecting me to pick her up yesterday at the airport. No chance! She's staying with friends in Coffs & will probably need to for several days yet. So it's not all bad news. What's that they say about 'every cloud & silver linings'?   ;D

I have plenty of supplies, access to Austar, fresh coffee, beer & wine and no wife to tell me what I'm doing wrong until the water goes down.

Life is good!!!!

Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

180mm in 24hrs to 9am this morning and only 23mm since then. And to think we cancelled out on a weekend away due to the weather. Now they are talking phase 2 from Saturday with more heavy rain coming here. Who knows. All a big guess. Just covering butts.

173 here yesterday (Springwood way).  Not much really.  Another 15 today.  Hoping for a bit more.  Took me an extra 30 mins to get to work as my usual creek crossing was flooded (Marsden).
