The effort and expense Brett has outplayed to keep this forum going is fantastic. As he has mentioned he is happy for donations but has outplayed a lot of money for what we all wanted and that is shirts, stickers and coolers.

Let's all dig deep and order something so that he can recoup the money he has outlayed. I have sold a camper and fridge with no advertising costs through Myswag and appreciate the help this forum has given me.

So here is a way to get more shirt sales, any member who is heading to the Cape next year must have at least one polo shirt, sticker and cooler per vehicle as a minimum. Once exact numbers have been done in Jan for the trip please put in your order with Brett.

What about a small fee if we sell something on myswag?
If i can finally sell my camper on here i'd be more than happy to pay $10 or so.
I know some forums have a small fee for vendors as well which as a small business owner i think is a good idea. I love free advertising, but paying for it is all part of running a business.

GO MYSWAG!!! :cup:

Yep another forum i've been a member of for a few years offers a premium membership......... basically all this really entitles you to is enabling you to advertise on the site, for a measley sum of $10 for 12months....... this stops alot of one off "posters" jumping on and throwing an add in the classifieds. After 12months if you wish to chuck an add on the site you just pay another $10, and away you go again........... compared to advertising on Trading Sites the $10 cost is nothing in my view.......

Just a thought.

In reality I don't have an issue with it - as long as the person selling replies to questions (which they never do), they update it when its sold (which they never do), uses the template (which they never do).

I reckon as long as they include a phone number then leave it - if they dont, delete it.

So what if they advertise as their only post, it doesnt cost Brett anything if they advertise, the electrons are basically free, if it saves a member money then all good, if it saves me money then  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

As I do use the forum as a sales channel, even if the way I see it ideally if I add something of value and encourage new members b7y making exclusive offers, I reckon that it is only fair that we do what we can to support the growth of this community, there is a lot of great people here and until I was told this place existed I didnt know there were people who would actually get on line and talk about the great spots to go and see.
BUT now I know I will do what is required to ensure this place keeps going, still not a part of here but would hate to see us lose this great collective knowledge.

Whilst you have some good points my main issue is common courtesy, courtesy to the forum owner, courtesy to its members. I think it is rude to hit and run. Just my little effort to change peoples manners in the world

Hi mystq

If you buy a tyre cover it will help out the site indirectly by advertising while you are driving around however the financial proceeds from the purchase of the cover don't go directly to the Forum due to the covers being managed by an external supplier.

Hope this helps...

ok when I am ready to do a rerelease of the bags, is there a way to deposit funds into the cause?   Not saying it is going to be next week or the week after (still have to move premises when I find the right one) but probably a new years sale?  Cause I am serious about supporting the Forum if it is possible to do so from my business:)
