Hi All,

We are looking at arriving into Cairns on Monday 20th and spending the week seeing some of the sites and doing day trips to Atherton, Mareeba and the reef.

I was wondering where everyone else is staying when they arrive prior to our departure on the 25th for the Cape.

cheers

We'll be in Cairns on Monday 20th at the Big 4 Coconut Holiday Resort, with Steveandviv. It will be good to see a few others who may be heading north and to share an ale or three.

Here's the details for Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort, if you have young kids they'll love this place, the park has a massive jumping pillow, and water playground, pool etc.......
I actually lived in this park about 18 yrs ago with my Mrs, and our on site van we had in the park was our eldest daughters first home....... i still call her my little Trailer Trash Baby...... hehehe.

Mark,

Lake Placid looks good. We also like the looks of th Coconut resort and will be making a decision in the coming days. It would be good to meet and get to know others who are coming to the Cape.

we stayed at Lake Placid last year, and it was good, lovely park, and fairly quiet when we were there (sept), but our kids had their noses pressed against the windows as we drove past Coconuts, and their faces dropped when we kept on driving. If we were going this year, we would have stayed at coconuts this time.

McGirr

Coconuts caravan park is a fantastic place. It is on the southern side of Cairns and allow 20 min to drive to where we will be meeting to leave on the trip. Lake Placid is on the northern side of Cairns and is 5 min to our meeting place.

We stayed at Lake Placid in 2009 with the Myswag Cape Capers trip so I guess we'll be staying there again. It's nice and close to Woolies for the departure day.
