I'm thinking Nov 12-14 camping at the lillies beach camp ground. I've been here nearly 4 years and only camped there for 1 night in a tent. So i'm keen to give it a good go for the weekend.

With those who aren't camping meeting on Sat around 9.30 if that's not too early.

Some 'out of towners' are interested so camping would make it worth the trip for them and purely selfish reasons for me to camp.
Spread the word to any locals you may know.

Hodgy

I say we remove the bitumen and make all the roads dirt.

Works for me, my parents are still down there, so good excuse to drop in!
Do not PM me for technical advice - start a thread.

Nice to see some responses. Maybe a weekend in Nov. I'll work out a date. I know dec can be hectic with christmas parties. We may even have to do it early next year. I'm heading to coffs in oct that's why i can't do it earlier. But you don't need me to get together earlier. This could be the start of something who knows. :D

We would be keen if we are free. The more we can use the new camper the better and we also have friends down there so we will watch for dates with intrest. Nov sounds good.

Karen

We may be able to make this one so I'll pencil it in and let you know if and when we are definites.  We will be coming from Bargara so not too far to travel.

I grew up in Gladstone and used to visit the Lillies quite regularly with my parents.

Cheers
Karen

bert56

Hi all, the only reason I wont be there is if I have to work.
BERT

Berg

I was going to come but then I saw Karen might go so........ :-* Sounds like I will need to check with the planner to see if we are free. I only have one question, how much room is there up there for potentially quite a few camper trailers.

Keep up the good work Hodgy

Hi Hodgey, Just wondering if a permit is still required, it was the last time I went. Although that was years ago.
Bert

Bert,

I will consult the diary. It may be a possible at this stage. Even if I have to work that weekend it is not far to come and say hello. Keep us posted.

An update on the get together. You'll need a permit to drive on the beach $5 for a week pass or $25 for the year. You can get them from the Boyne Island library. They're open Fri 9-5:30 and Sat 9-4. If you don't think you can get there in time let me know before hand and i'll get them for you, i just need rego details.

Don't worry about tides Fri high is 13:35, Sat high 14:36, Sun high 15:42. This shouldn't be a problem.
They don't do bookings, but i'll be there on fri arvo and i'll save some spots.

Hodgy

PS don't forget ya rods.

We'll meet just before the camp ground so anyone camping can sus it out before heading in.

That's cool never really expected anyone to turn up anyway. It was a bit windy and the occasional shower but never when setting up or packing up. A good downpoor came after we'd packed up and were having a swim.
The wind was good as it kept the nasties away.
Now i know i'll not be camping in the sand again too soon, it gets everywhere.
Bring on the bush.
I'll post some picks soon.
