Looking at gettin an aluminium tool box to sit on top of the CT. I need additional room for gear. So any suggestions re security? The tool box would sit like the photos. I would then secure the box using the wind up hooks. So I need to cable it up so no one can steal the box.

Received my raffle prize from gg,  these cables are awesome. In all seriousness,  I don't know why I didn't buy some a long time ago! I'm presuming that the bag they came in is from sarahs canvas? Highly recommend these guys!

How big is the eyelet. I could make up a cable which goes through both eyelets and then put a padlock on it. One either end maybe on opposing corners maybe.

Thanks for the cables GG. Double hound lead will come in handy for the next trip and the other cable is already fitted up to the work truck to stop people stealing stuff when I'm parked.

I have noticed Bunnys has 5 and 6mm s/steel cable - but its not plastic coated..?

Basically I want a thicker cable with coating, if possible..

Clear coated at the moment. I may have a couple of short lengths of white if you are after something around 2m long. Let me know if needed and I can check my stocks

I only have plastic in 3.2mm wire size and some plain s/s uncoated at 4mm.

I bought a 6.5m cable from GG, came in fast and excellent quality. We're heading up the Oodnadatta to Uluru, West Macdonnell Ranges, Alice and Coober in Sep.

Last year after 1,000 kms of off road travel to Birdsville, the combination of corros and dust resulted in a broken key in a padlock. Given that I had been smart  and got 4 keyed alike, the boys and me had to sleep in the Prado until we got the locks cut off in Birdsville.

So now I can loop 2 gas bottles, 3 jerrycans and a solar panel while we're travelling and secure with one pad lock. I'm hoping that the "ring of steel" will protect the peripherals while we're away from the camper.
