Today the family went and checked out Tambo Campers. ;D
Very impressed with the construction of the trailers and the quality of the canvas. We loved the OMEO model. :cup:   Lots of storage room and loads of floor space for the family.
You get lots of extras for the price. so not a lot to do when you get it home.
Going CT shopping is like buying home its very confusing. ???
12-14 months wait from the time you order.
Just got to work out what to do and can I wait that long :'(

Tambo wait is usually 4 months...
I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go...

for the cooper at the moment is 6 months........Amanda said today that they are so busy they cant believe.
The wait on the omeo is 12 -14 months..... That's got to be good for business

I just picked up my Tambo Cooper after a (hard) 7 month wait. It was ordered last November.
I thought, for something I was keen on and planned on having for a long time it was worth waiting for.
Now that I have it I'm glad I chose to wait.

Looks as though they are getting busy again, it seems a long wait for the newer models, worth the wait though

I guess Keith has the issue of expansion. He hand builds everyone hence the quality and attention to detail. If he expands and ramps up production there will be a huge cost and possibility the quality will diminish. That said with waits like 12 months people could overlook them and buy something else.

I might just have to keep the trailer and base and update the tent, with the kids getting bigger we need room for two beds on the floor, the XT looks good, at least the wait will not be too bad.

While I was there today there was at least 4 other people looking as well.........Amanda was saying they are going to improve the OMEO model later this year. There are going to move the battery box from the trailer and include it in the walk way on the passenger side in a box, with some other small changes.

Gail or maybe you mean Amanda?

Tambo are definitely a good unit. Trouble for us southerners is we do not have a big choice like the Queenslanders have.

Two other local ones are the O'Briens (Dandenong) and Tru-Blu (Braeside). worth a look if you haven't already.

We picked up our cooper today :cheers:We waited 6 months which seemed an eternity!!!!! We optioned ours up with a bedroom, front and side walls on the awning, side lift, the draw bar extended to incorporate three jerry cans, swing out kitchen, innerspring mattress and battery pack.  We are very happy with it !!!! As far as the tent quality in our opinion Tambo is far superior to Tru Blu which we know from first hand experience....

The Tambo (first the Cooper XT, then the Omeo) were on our short list, but we're not willing to wait that long. A couple of months ago Amanda told us the wait on a Cooper was 4 months. I'm not even bothering to look at them in person, I don't want to encourage myself!

Found this quote from the Mountain Trail Camper website.

How long does it take between confirming an order and taking delivery?

Times differ depending on the season.  In April 2009 our longest period was 6 months; we increased our workforce and reduced it to 3 months.  January and February is our shortest waiting period which is 6 weeks.  We try to never let the delivery date exceed 3 months

I don't think I could wait 7 months for a new CT.

In fairness to Keith and Amanda (Tambo Campers) they have a small operational workshop and personalise everything that they do. Its not a huge factory assembly line. You deal directly with the people who assemble the camper.

I have one and I am very happy with the service and the product. I am not implying that the other campers on the market aren't up to the same standards, I wanted a Tambo, for this I was prepared to wait.

Now that they have become popular the wait is longer.

It is worth the wait for something you want.

Cheers rastus

Pumbaa

Yes i have to agree with you rastus..... we stopped in again today to have another look and i think that there going to be the camper of choice.

The Omeo just seems to tick all the boxes. And most of all the wife is happy with it

Hi all, I've been looking for a while and after heaps of looking  she WANTS an Omeo.

We were advise that delivery would be towards the end of Jan 2011 if we ordered now.  almost 7 months, but it will be worth it!!!!!

I'd rather wait for a quality product that buy cheap production line rubbish with poor quality control that will let me down in the worst possbile place.

Pretty good value for the product you get for your hard earned $$$$

Anyone out there running one yet?
