Thinking the  cost of a provisional and full patents, would be better spent reducing the cost of the units and getting as many as you could under contract  and  sold / building a good customer base, Before the Attack of the clones cuts you down ..
Unless something is truly a unigue never before developed item,  a box on wheels with a lift up roof  and a fancy paintjob just aint it .

Wouldn't matter to the Chinese.  Have you seen their clones of cars......Toyota 200 series....almost identical. Same for Lexus, Mercedes....You name it ?

Why spend money on design when it alredy has been done and they can make it cheaper?

My neighbor works for a German ventilator machine company (who are, of course, flat out at the moment) and told me that at the last international trade show, he went up to the stand of the Chinese company who also makes ventilators and, seeing their machines, thought he was looking at his own product. When he told them that, they said; "of course, we only copy the very best"!
