Roof top luggage bag

Hi all,
Looking for a luggage bag to go in the basket on the roof of my Prado.

Will need to be 1.1w x 1.8l by approx 30cm high

Have looked at Rhino which will do the job but just wondering is anyone can recommend a brand they have

MSA do good quality bags, the one I own has a very thick rubber base on it which is good for not rubbing holes in the base.....previous Bushranger brand bag I had was rubbish, leaked and wore holes in the base of it on corrugated roads.

I have an MSA bag. It has never let in rain or dust.

I prefer Roof Top Box -- I used to use one on a Nissan Pathfinder when doing remote travel with the kids, It was great for chairs, sleeping bags, buckets etc.

What I liked about the top box, was it was lockable, easy access to gear, just one key -- never no dust, no probs with water ingress no matter how hard it rained.

I have used a roof top luggage bag -- it was a real struggle, and does not compare with a Roof Top Box.

Hi,
I use the 4WD supercentre roof top bag.
Not as large as you want but still large enough to hold 2x 100ltr yellow lid boxes with room to put 3x cartons of beer between them.
Seasoned it before we left and kept mostly dry and definitely no dust.
Not that expensive but we toss after about 2 trips as they start to get a bit ratty.

Hi Apples69, do you get down to Brisbane often? If so, I have an old roof top box you can have. I think it is a Prorack brand. However, I don't have the key or the mounting screws/brackets. It was on an old camper i bought and got rid of years ago.

If you're not interested I will put it on the free giveaway thread.  I'm away for work until Friday but will take some photos next weekend.

Now for my two cents worth on bag vs box. I also have a bag somewhere, haven't used it for years (but not quite ready to give it away). When I did use it, I found I could fit much more into it then you can in most roof top boxes. Of course, you also need a tray or something solid under a bag.

I had a southern cross roof bag.. top quality never leaked and you can fit a stupid amount of Shit in them too - I guess like Utes with a hard cover on them, your restricted to what you can fit in them where the canvas your not so rigid on what goes in it.

Yeah but the hard boxes are the perfect size for a miss behaving child and no one can see them squirming at the rest stop cause it is solid construction unlike the canvas rooftop bags that will arise suspicion

I've got one in the shed that's about to be dumped as I can't find a buyer for it. It's a Bushranger. You can have it if you want. I'm on southside of Brisvegas.
