I lost track of the things I tried to get the red dust stains out from the top of the dash - seemed to be embedded in the very fine textured surface of the plastic (Hilux, but lots of cars are the same). Tried all sorts of detergents and brushes with no success. Then remembered my daughter used to sell a cleaning mitt called ENJO, which I never bothered with because you were supposed to use it with water only, no detergent, and I knew instinctively that would be useless. However, found an old one - never used - and some water, and bugger me, all the dirt has gone! Just a gentle sort of circular motion was all that it took. Ive no idea if they are still around, but mine's not for sale at any price.

WD40. Gets everything off. Grease, blackjack, tar all sorts of stuff. Just don't do steering wheel or hand brake. It looks nice but bloody slippery.

Yeah, enjo is one of those products that is driven by black magic...

Add a bit of water, and it just gets stuff clean... My wife and I bought a heap of it a few years back, and it does make cleaning heaps easier.

Not sure if I could handle the smell inside my car, especially after sitting in the sun all day....
