Hi
I have a tractor with a front end loader and typical 3 point linkage on the rear.
The 10 litre hydraulic reservoir is under the seat and supplies the total system
I was stupid enough to add one litre of fluid contaminated with roughly 50% water.
The hydraulics to the front have been used half a dozen times.
The question is whether the fluid that goes to the front end loader returns to the reservoir which would probably mean a full system drain or would the fluid to the front rams be stuck in the hoses and only the rear lines and reservoir need draining?
Thanks
Ian

Sorry if you have moved any of the controls the whole system will be contaminated. I personally drain and refill the whole system as you could get cavitation in the pump and it will crap itself very quickly.

In underground coal mines, we have run machines on almost 100% water ( not intentionally )
Find out how to flush the system with hyd fluid and you'll be fine.

Water is a spectacular hydraulic fluid as its incompressible  ;D that saying it'll corrode the internals give it a full flush as others have suggested and you'll be fine.
Here for a good time, not a long time!

Thanks for the bad news. The internals may rust but at least ticks won't be a problem.
