Me thinking a new Pioneer onyx

Now I'm at a stage where I would like to up grade or degrade not sure what you call it. Current van is a large off rd caravan bell whistle shower  loo etc etc. But i want something smaller now. Something better suited to quick 3 day remote camping..

I have just eyed a ex demo pioneer 2016 onyx. Whats draws me to this particular camper is 1 its available in my state AND 2.it has airconditioning. Yes I'm soft BUT we live in Darwin,  an try and head out at all times of year. Not just the dry, so aircon has it huge benifits...

Which leads me to ask an look for current  and up to date info on current models. Next question too would be has anyone had experiences with aircon in a hard floor / canvas camper.
Its a air command sandpiper 2.2kva

Any info advise would be great.

There's a few kimberleys kicking about with ac and from all reports they perform pretty well canvas may not be very insulating but that size unit would keep a space that big pretty chilled the pioneer units look pretty well built

Thanks 4 the reply. I looked at the Kimberly as i noticed they had aircon. Still hard to find 1st hand experience.
The onyx I was looking at i have passed up. We cannot come to agreement on price. (Ha d ha).
So still looking. Thinking just using  a small portable house hold air con when possible.

Getting a complete campsite looked at tomorrow (in another's state) to see if its as good as pictures. No aircon butttt im sure I can rig something up if the price is right.

Yeh it's a pity the old Evap coolers don't work too well when it's humid otherwise ya could get one of those little 12v ones which actually pack a punch for their size and energy consumption
