Theres a bloke over on the Ausfish forum who's been doing hourly updates since yesterday morning. He's in Airlie and it sounds bloody horrible, 260km hour winds and roof's flying off houses. Best thoughts to anyone who is going through it.

Survived the cyclone OK in Bowen, lost fences blown over. The bloody storm the next day took out the pool pump, stick and Mig welders.
They are only things so can be replaced (Insured). We are so lucky no one was hurt or killed.

Sunshine Coast hinterland fared ok - not a lot of flooding but heaps of trees down on Thursday evening. Energex recorded over 500 separate powerline incidents! My SES unit was kept busy, I did 33 hours between Wed morning and Fri night. We've never distributed so many sandbags in such a short period of time - we went through 49 cubic metres of sand...
