Quote from: RumpigHe's not alone, the N.Z captain is reported (on Triple M radio just before) to have done the same thing last night also....Ryan Girdler is on Triple M saying this guy shouldn't lose his job...FFS, if the head guys at the club can't set the right examples, how can they expect the players to do it, let alone be able to look them in the face and sack them for doing the same thing.
Typical response from an ex player sadly, it's in their culture to just say drugs are everywhere in the cummunity, so it's no big deal that someone took them.
They take the big $$$ to be involved in the game at the top level so should lead by example IMHO...
get caught doing the wrong thing and kick them to the curve, they signed contracts to say that's how they'll act, stop babying everyone and send the message it's not acceptable behaviour...
plenty of other talent in coaching, CEO's and players always come along.
I agree with everything you said!

So long as you have tried your best, you should have no regrets.

Foo which person, Girdler or Keough

Foo

Girdler is a dipchit for saying what he did and Keough is no better that a drug cheat player as he was condoning the use of drugs, by taking them, himself. Bloody hypocrite!  >:D

Listening to some ex NSW players today whinge about City V Country game being axed...it's a complete waste of time and not taken serious by anyone these days. If Qld can pick an 11 year dominant winning Origin team without such a game in their state, I'm pretty sure NSW can do th same (though apparently they are happy to only win 3 years in a row, and then call it the death of Origin). There's a thing called talent scouts that grab kids from the Country at a young age these days, move on,  the game was important 15 years ago but not today...a waste of time and money. You want the Country to feel included in the game, then start playing some NRL games in the bush more often, the crowds would be as big as Sydney gets at many of it's weekly games anyhow.

WTF....the Titans are now putting in a complaint that Proctor wasn't supervised properly whilst on representative duties for NZ, and that's why he took the drugs. Geez I thought he was grown adult that should be held responsible for his own actions, but apparently that's not the case hey...what a bloody joke.

I agree with that.. sport is the life of many country towns and regions.

Sad thing is its getting reported so often, I think that Stirlo said it best... more needs to be done

but it is happening in all sports, some just hide it better than others sadly.

Stirlo, talking about lines in the sand, while discussing the Gold Coast's teams drugs problem. Gold ;D

Why is it that Kleemer never gets penalised for lifting his legs / knees the way he does when he runs?

Im a bit out of touch with NRL, but I watched the Sharks game last weekend, and when did they allow 1/4 backs in teh game?? There were more untouched forward passes than in 10 yrs added together.

no gloating at the moment...

NSW has probably never picked a stronger side (other than not picking Paul Vaughan) and QLD may have whiffed on a few selection omissions... (Slater, Wallace, Hess)...  time will tell, i guess.

Milford's kicking game has me worried as well...

but, on the plus side, i heard a rumour that Roy & HG are back on Triple M for the SOO call... so that's good news... :)

Oh  how i wish that where true.
Unfortunately, it looks like it is just a rumor.... https://www.triplem.com.au/sport/nrl/listen-live-games-triple-m-is-calling

I actually think this year was Queensland's chance to blood some young talent and prepare for the sad future.
It won't be too long before there's no more core players like Thurston, Thaiday, Smith or Slater to build a team around.

Besides after winning 10 out of the last 11, if we don't let them win one series soon they're going to give up on it all together.
We all know how much those southerners hate having to work hard for things....  ;D
